2.1. Information You Provide Directly
Account Data: Information required to create your account, including your full name, username, email address, mobile number, date of birth, and a secure password.

User Content: All content you generate, upload, or share on the platform, including posts, comments, educational notes (documents, PDFs, images), short-form videos (“Clips”), poll questions, and responses.
Communication Data: Messages you send through our Service (e.g., direct messages, group chats) and your communications with our support team.
Payment Data: If you make a purchase, our third-party payment processors will collect necessary financial information, such as your UPI ID or transaction details. We do not store sensitive payment card information on our servers.

Usage Data: We collect information about your interaction with the Service, including the features you use, the content you view and engage with, time spent on the app, search queries, and your interactions with other users.
Device & Technical Data: We automatically receive information from your device, including your device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, IP address, network information, and performance data. This information is critical for application functionality, security, and troubleshooting.
Location Data: We collect precise or approximate location information from your device only if you grant us explicit permission to do so. This allows us to provide you with localized features, such as recommending nearby educational institutes and events.

2.3. Information from Third Parties
We may receive information about you from third-party services you use to log in to Sikhami (e.g., Google, Facebook), such as your name and email address, to streamline the registration process.

We use your information for legitimate business purposes and to fulfil our contractual obligations to you, including:
Service Delivery: To create and maintain your account, provide customer support, and facilitate the core functionalities of Sikhami, such as content sharing, networking, and communication.
Personalization: To tailor your experience by curating your feed, recommending relevant content, connections, courses, and events based on your profile and activity.
Service Improvement: To analyse trends, monitor usage, and improve the functionality, performance, and user experience of our Service.
Safety and Security: To protect the rights, property, and safety of Sikhami, our users, and the public. This includes enforcing our terms, preventing fraud, and detecting and mitigating security risks.
Communication: To send you administrative messages, alerts, security notifications, and updates about the Service. With your consent, we may also send you marketing communications.

4. How We Share Your Information

Sikhami is built on trust. We do not sell your personal data. We restrict the sharing of your information to the following limited scenarios:
With Your Consent: We share information when you direct us to, such as when your public profile and content are displayed to other users according to your privacy settings.
With Service Providers: We engage trusted third-party vendors to perform services on our behalf, such as cloud hosting, data analytics, payment processing, and customer support. Sikhami is dedicated to protecting the privacy of children. In compliance with the DPDP Act 2023 and the POCSO Act 2012:
We will obtain verifiable parental consent before collecting any personal data from a user we know to be under the age of 18.
We will not process the personal data of a child in any manner that is detrimental to their well-being.
Parents or legal guardians may contact us to review, correct, or delete the personal data of their child.

We implement robust technical and organizational measures designed to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include encryption, access controls, and regular security assessments.
