1. General Principles & Platform Ethos

At Sikhami, we aim to create a safe, respectful, inclusive, and empowering environment where students, teachers, institutes, and learners from all walks of life can connect, collaborate, and grow together. To maintain a healthy and positive community, every member is expected to follow the principles below:

1.1 Respect and Dignity for All

Treat every member of the Sikhami community — students, educators, creators, institutes, and professionals — with kindness, courtesy, and respect.

Harassment, bullying, or personal attacks of any kind will not be tolerated. This includes:

Insults, abusive language, or demeaning remarks.

Targeted harassment through posts, comments, private messages, or reviews.

Coordinated attacks or campaigns intended to shame, threaten, or harm others.

Hate speech in any form is strictly prohibited. Users must not promote or incite violence, discrimination, or hostility against anyone based on:

Religion or beliefs

Caste or community

Gender or sexual orientation

Race, ethnicity, or nationality

Disability, illness, or any other personal attribute

Sikhami respects everyone’s right to dignity and self-respect. We expect you to engage thoughtfully and constructively.

1.2 Authenticity

Sikhami thrives on trust and transparency. To ensure a credible and reliable platform:

Use your real identity wherever possible, especially when interacting with teachers, institutes, or professionals.

Impersonation is strictly forbidden — do not create fake profiles, pretend to be someone else, or misrepresent your affiliation.

Avoid misleading information about your qualifications, academic background, or professional identity.

Authenticity builds trust. When everyone represents themselves truthfully, Sikhami becomes a stronger, safer, and more reliable learning network.

1.3 Safety and Inclusivity

Sikhami is built to empower everyone — regardless of who they are, where they come from, or what they believe.

Every member of the Sikhami community has the right to participate without fear of harm, intimidation, or exclusion.

To foster inclusivity:

Respect different viewpoints, even if they do not match your own.

Encourage open and constructive discussions.

Avoid language or behavior that makes others feel unsafe, unwelcome, or marginalized.

Sikhami will actively work to remove barriers, protect vulnerable users, and ensure that everyone has a voice.

1.4 Our Commitment

We are committed to creating an environment where:

Learning, collaboration, and innovation thrive.

Diversity is celebrated.

Respect, empathy, and kindness guide every interaction.

Violations of these principles — including harassment, hate speech, impersonation, or exclusionary practices — may result in content removal, temporary suspension, or permanent account bans.

2. Spam, Manipulation, & Misleading Content

At Sikhami, we are committed to maintaining a clean, trustworthy, and valuable platform where users can engage meaningfully without distraction or manipulation. To ensure this, we have zero tolerance for spam, fraudulent activity, and misleading content.

The following rules apply to posts, comments, messages, clips, notes, reviews, and all forms of user activity on Sikhami.

2.1 Zero Tolerance for Spam

Spam disrupts the user experience and lowers the quality of interactions. To maintain a high standard of community engagement:

Do not post or share irrelevant, repetitive, or promotional content that adds no value to discussions.

Avoid mass messaging or bulk posting of similar content across different sections (e.g., notes, questions, comments, clips).

Sharing links to external websites, products, or services purely for self-promotion or traffic generation without prior approval is prohibited.

Refrain from posting the same comment repeatedly or excessively tagging people without context.

Examples of spammy behavior:

Posting the same note or ad in multiple courses repeatedly.

Sending bulk private messages to promote unrelated services.

Adding irrelevant hashtags or keywords just to gain visibility.

2.2 No Clickbait or Deceptive Practices

We want Sikhami to remain reliable and free from misleading tactics.

Avoid using misleading titles, thumbnails, or captions that misrepresent the actual content.

Do not exaggerate, sensationalize, or manipulate users into clicking content under false pretenses.

Do not disguise promotional content as educational material unless it is clearly labeled.

For example:

A clip titled “100% Shortcut to Crack UPSC” that does not provide real strategies would be considered misleading.

Notes or posts with false claims designed purely to drive engagement are not allowed.

2.3 Fraudulent Content & Scams

Sikhami will not tolerate fraudulent behavior of any kind:

Do not engage in financial scams, including:

Offering fake courses or certifications.

Selling leaked exam papers or prohibited materials.

Promoting get-rich-quick schemes, Ponzi scams, or illegal financial practices.

Do not attempt to phish, hack, or obtain personal data under false pretenses.

Avoid misleading users into sharing sensitive information, such as passwords, OTPs, or payment details.

2.4 No Artificial Engagement or System Manipulation

Our goal is to keep Sikhami fair and transparent. Any attempt to game the platform undermines trust and will lead to strict action:

Do not use bots, fake accounts, or automated tools to:

Generate fake likes, fake views, fake follows, or fake comments.

Manipulate trending posts, popular notes, or leaderboard rankings.

Avoid participating in “engagement exchange” groups where likes, follows, or comments are traded purely to boost visibility.

Do not attempt to bypass our algorithms or manipulate search rankings by keyword stuffing or irrelevant tags.

2.5 Protecting Users from Misleading Content

Sikhami is designed to provide authentic, accurate, and valuable educational resources. To ensure reliability:

Always fact-check your information before sharing it.

Avoid misrepresenting your qualifications, results, or expertise.

Do not spread rumors, fake news, or misinformation, especially related to:

Government exams and results.

Institutes, faculties, or courses.

Public events, educational policies, or safety alerts.

2.6 Enforcement

Violations of these rules will result in strict action:

First offense → Warning and content removal.

Repeated offenses → Temporary suspension from posting or commenting.

Severe or fraudulent activity → Permanent account ban and possible reporting to authorities.

3. Misinformation & Integrity

At Sikhami, our mission is to provide a credible and reliable space where students, educators, and institutions can share knowledge, learn, and grow together. For this reason, we take the issue of misinformation extremely seriously.

Spreading false, misleading, or unverified information — intentionally or unintentionally — can harm students, damage reputations, and erode trust in the platform. Therefore, Sikhami enforces strict rules to maintain accuracy, integrity, and accountability.

3.1 No Misinformation

Fact-check everything before posting. Whether you’re sharing notes, clips, courses, reviews, answers, or updates, ensure the information is accurate, verified, and sourced responsibly.

Do not post:

Wrong or unverified exam dates, results, or answer keys.

False claims about institutes, faculties, or courses.

Unconfirmed news related to government policies, education boards, or recruitment exams.

If you are unsure of the accuracy of your content, clearly mention it in your post.

Example:

❌ “SSC CGL 2025 exam cancelled — confirmed!” (when unverified)

✅ “According to X official source, SSC CGL 2025 may be rescheduled — awaiting confirmation.”

3.2 Educational Integrity

Sikhami is built on the principle of authentic and responsible learning. To protect this environment:

Do not upload plagiarized, fake, or fabricated notes, quizzes, or courses.

Do not misrepresent your scores, ranks, or academic background to mislead others.

Always credit original creators and institutions when sharing third-party materials.

Avoid sensational claims like “Guaranteed selection in UPSC with this trick” if they lack credible proof.

3.3 Current Topics & Sensitive Events

Misinformation spreads fastest during sensitive or trending topics like exam result delays, recruitment scams, or education policy changes. To maintain credibility:

Only share updates from trusted, verifiable sources.

Avoid creating panic or confusion by sharing incomplete or unverified reports.

Clearly differentiate opinions from facts when discussing policies, results, or strategies.

3.4 Health, Safety & Well-being

In the context of student mental health, health-related claims, and well-being:

Do not spread unverified health advice that could cause harm.

Avoid promoting unsafe practices, unproven treatments, or misleading dietary advice.

If sharing health-related content, always include references to credible institutions like WHO, NCERT, AIIMS, etc.

3.5 Malicious Misinformation

Intentionally spreading false or harmful information for personal gain, manipulation, or disruption will result in strict action, including:

Permanent removal of the content.

Temporary or permanent suspension of your account.

Reporting to relevant authorities if the misinformation poses serious harm.

3.6 How Sikhami Ensures Integrity

To maintain a trustworthy ecosystem, Sikhami:

Encourages users to cite official sources when sharing important updates.

Uses manual and automated moderation to flag potentially misleading content.

Allows users to report suspicious posts easily so our team can review them quickly.

May add context labels or warnings to content under review.

3.7 Responsibility of Users

Before posting, ask yourself:

“Is this accurate? Is this verified? Could this harm someone if it’s wrong?”

If you make a mistake, update or correct your post to prevent further spread of misinformation.

Always distinguish between personal experiences, opinions, and facts.

3.8 Enforcement

Violations will be handled based on severity:

Minor unintentional misinformation → Warning + content removal.

Repeated violations → Temporary posting restrictions.

Deliberate spreading of false information → Permanent account ban.

4. Content Safety: Sensitive & Regulated Material

At Sikhami, our priority is to create a safe, respectful, and inclusive platform where students, teachers, institutes, and learners can interact freely without being exposed to harmful, inappropriate, or dangerous content.

Certain types of content can harm individuals, traumatize students, misguide learners, or violate laws. To protect our community, strict rules govern what can and cannot be posted, shared, or promoted on Sikhami.

4.1 Prohibited Explicit & Sexual Content

Sharing, posting, or promoting nudity, pornography, or sexually explicit material is strictly forbidden.

Sexual exploitation, objectification, or harassment in any form — through posts, messages, comments, notes, or clips — is not tolerated.

Avoid sexually suggestive material even if it’s not explicit, especially if it is intended to attract, mislead, or manipulate viewers.

Exception: Limited, contextually appropriate educational content may be allowed only when:

It serves a clear educational, scientific, documentary, or artistic purpose.

It is presented responsibly, without sensationalism or intent to arouse.

Examples:

✅ Sharing a medical illustration explaining human anatomy in a biology course → Allowed.

❌ Posting sexually suggestive videos in the clips section → Not allowed.

4.2 Violence, Abuse & Graphic Material

Do not share content that depicts or promotes:

Violence, abuse, or extreme cruelty.

Graphic injuries, gore, or disturbing visuals.

Threats of harm or calls for violence against individuals or groups.

Contextual exceptions may apply for:

Documentary content covering historical events.

Educational discussions on safety or crime prevention.

Such content must be presented responsibly and never glorify harm.

4.3 Self-Harm, Suicide & Dangerous Activities

We care deeply about mental health and student safety. Therefore:

Do not post, promote, or glorify self-harm, suicide, eating disorders, or dangerous challenges.

Avoid sharing step-by-step instructions for harming oneself or others.

If discussing mental health struggles, always:

Share supportive, empathetic, and non-triggering content.

Encourage seeking help from professionals or helplines.

Sikhami may provide crisis support resources where appropriate.

4.4 Protecting Minors

Sikhami is designed to be a safe platform for students and learners, many of whom are minors. Therefore:

Do not post, share, or request sexualized content involving anyone under 18.

Do not encourage or pressure minors into unsafe activities, sharing personal information, or meeting strangers.

Any child exploitation content will lead to:

Immediate and permanent account ban.

Reporting to law enforcement authorities.

Sikhami uses moderation to flag and remove harmful recommendations targeted at minors.

4.5 Hate Speech & Extremism

Do not post, promote, or glorify:

Terrorism, violent extremism, or criminal organizations.

Content encouraging recruitment into unlawful activities.

Any attempt to radicalize or manipulate users into harmful ideological groups will result in strict enforcement and possible reporting to authorities.

4.6 Regulated & Prohibited Goods

For the safety and legality of our community, Sikhami prohibits the sale, promotion, or distribution of certain goods and services, including:

Weapons: Firearms, explosives, ammunition, and related accessories.

Illegal substances: Drugs, narcotics, and restricted chemicals.

Alcohol and tobacco products.

Prescription medicines without valid authorization.

Counterfeit items or pirated educational materials.

Exam leaks or restricted study materials prohibited by law.

4.7 Sensitive Educational Content

In some cases, Sikhami allows the sharing of sensitive topics — but only when it is done responsibly:

Discussions involving topics like sexual health, mental health, or violence must:

Be factual and educational.

Avoid sensationalism, triggering visuals, or exploitative intent.

Cite credible sources whenever possible.

This ensures Sikhami remains a safe yet informative environment for learners.

4.8 Enforcement

Violating these policies can result in immediate and strict actions:

First-time violations → Warning + content removal.

Repeated violations → Temporary account suspension.

Severe violations (child exploitation, terrorism, explicit pornography, dangerous activities) →

Permanent account ban.

Reporting to authorities when legally required.

5. Harassment, Hate Speech & Bullying

At Sikhami, we are committed to creating a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for all users. Our community thrives on constructive engagement, collaboration, and learning, and harassment, threats, or hate speech undermine that purpose.

All users are expected to treat others with dignity, respect, and empathy while interacting on the platform.

5.1 Harassment

Harassment includes any behavior intended to intimidate, threaten, or humiliate another user.

Examples include:

Repeated unwanted messages or comments.

Targeted attacks on a user’s personal, academic, or professional life.

Stalking or following a user across multiple interactions to harass them.

Consequences: Harassment will result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent ban, depending on severity.

5.2 Hate Speech

Hate speech is any content, comment, or post that attacks, insults, or discriminates against individuals or groups based on:

Race, ethnicity, or nationality

Religion, caste, or beliefs

Gender or sexual orientation

Disability, illness, or personal characteristics

Users must avoid inflammatory language, slurs, or content that incites violence or hostility.

Sikhami may moderate, remove, or flag hate speech and, in extreme cases, report users to authorities.

5.3 Bullying

Bullying includes repeated, aggressive, or harmful behavior aimed at a user to cause distress, fear, or harm.

Examples:

Posting humiliating content about someone.

Coordinated attacks or campaigns to shame or isolate a user.

Negative, derogatory, or mocking messages targeting a person’s learning, performance, or identity.

Zero tolerance policy: Bullying will be addressed with strict enforcement.

5.4 Protected Contexts: Satire & Commentary

Sikhami recognizes that some content may involve satire, parody, or critical commentary, which can resemble offensive speech.

These are permissible only if clearly labeled and presented responsibly:

Satire or commentary must not target individuals for harassment.

Should focus on ideas, policies, or topics rather than personal attacks.

Avoid spreading misleading or harmful content under the guise of satire.

Example:

✅ Satirical post about a study technique, clearly labeled “Satire,” focusing on improving learning habits.

❌ Mocking a specific student’s mistakes publicly without consent — not allowed.

5.5 Encouraging Positive Interactions

Critique ideas, not people: Disagreements should focus on facts, learning methods, or resources, never personal attributes.

Encourage constructive feedback and mutual growth in discussions, Q&A, comments, or reviews.

Support fellow users and celebrate their learning achievements rather than belittling them.

5.6 Enforcement

Violations of harassment, hate speech, or bullying rules will lead to:

First offense: Warning and removal of offensive content.

Repeated offenses: Temporary suspension or restriction of posting privileges.

Severe offenses: Permanent account ban and reporting to authorities if required.

Sikhami may also provide educational interventions to help users understand proper behavior.

6. Moderation, Reporting & Enforcement

At Sikhami, we are committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and trustworthy community. To achieve this, we rely on effective moderation, clear reporting mechanisms, and consistent enforcement of our community guidelines.

All users are encouraged to participate in keeping the platform safe by reporting violations responsibly.

6.1 Community Reporting System

Sikhami provides easy-to-use reporting tools for all users.

Users can report:

Harassment, bullying, or threats.

Hate speech, discrimination, or offensive content.

Spam, misleading information, or fraudulent content.

Violations of privacy or intellectual property.

Unsafe or inappropriate material, especially involving minors.

Reports are reviewed promptly and confidentially, ensuring the safety of both reporters and the reported.

Goal: Empower users to help maintain a positive and safe community.

6.2 Moderation Process

Sikhami uses a combination of human moderation and automated tools to identify, review, and act on potential violations.

Human review:

Trained moderators evaluate reported content for context, intent, and severity.

Ensures fairness and nuanced decisions that automated tools may miss.

Automated detection:

AI and machine learning tools flag potentially harmful content, spam, or copyright violations.

Helps maintain speed, scale, and accuracy in monitoring community activity.

Sikhami continuously updates moderation rules and AI models to adapt to new trends and threats.

6.3 Graduated Enforcement

Sikhami follows a tiered approach to enforcement, designed to educate users and prevent repeated violations:

First Offense — Warning:

Users receive a clear explanation of the violation.

Offending content may be removed.

Educational guidance may be provided to prevent recurrence.

Repeated Violations — Suspension or Feature Restrictions:

Temporary suspension from posting, commenting, or using specific features.

Encourages users to learn from mistakes and adjust behavior.

Severe or Malicious Violations — Permanent Ban:

Users engaging in serious abuse, repeated harassment, or illegal activity may face permanent account bans.

Illegal activities may also be reported to authorities.

Optional Learning & Training:

Sikhami may offer users educational resources or interactive modules to help them understand community rules.

This promotes a positive culture and helps users grow responsibly within the platform.

6.4 Transparency and Accountability

All moderation actions aim to be fair, consistent, and transparent.

Users may be notified of why content was removed or why account restrictions were applied.

Sikhami provides appeal mechanisms for users who believe moderation decisions were incorrect.

Feedback from users helps improve community guidelines, reporting tools, and moderation processes.

7. Exceptions for Educational or Public Interest Content

At Sikhami, we recognize that some content may touch on topics that would otherwise violate standard community guidelines, but can still be valuable for learning, awareness, or public discussion.

Such content is allowed only when it serves a clear purpose, is responsibly presented, and is explicitly labeled.

7.1 Educational, Scientific, Documentary, or Artistic Context (EDSA)

Content that may otherwise be sensitive or restricted may be permitted if it serves a clear educational, scientific, documentary, or artistic purpose.

Requirements:

Must be explicitly labeled to indicate its educational or artistic intent.

Should be thoughtfully presented, without sensationalism or intent to harm.

Must avoid targeting individuals or creating harassment.

Examples:

✅ Anatomy videos for biology students.

✅ Historical footage showing real events, clearly labeled for educational use.

❌ Graphic content shared solely to shock or entertain — not allowed.

7.2 Public Interest Consideration

Content discussing sensitive topics (politics, race, gender, social issues) may be permitted if it contributes meaningfully to public discourse.

Guidelines:

Focus should be on ideas, policies, or societal impact, not personal attacks.

Ensure the discussion is fact-based, respectful, and constructive.

Clearly indicate the context to help users understand its purpose.

Example:

✅ Analytical video on government education policies affecting students.

❌ Post spreading false rumors about a political figure to defame them — not allowed.

7.3 Enforcement

Even educational or public-interest content must not breach privacy, promote self-harm, or incite hate.

Sikhami may review context carefully and may restrict or label content to ensure user safety.

8. Psychological Safety & Platform Well-Being

At Sikhami, we prioritize the mental and emotional well-being of our users. The platform is designed to encourage learning, collaboration, and positive social interactions, while minimizing content and behavior that may be harmful.

8.1 Encourage Mental Health Awareness

Avoid sharing content that negatively affects self-esteem, body image, or confidence, especially for younger users.

Promote supportive discussions, constructive feedback, and positive reinforcement.

Educational content on mental health, stress management, and coping strategies is encouraged with proper guidance and resources.

8.2 Discourage Toxic Behavior and Trolling

Toxic behavior, trolling, or content intended to humiliate, provoke, or distress others is strictly prohibited.

Users should prioritize:

Empathy — understanding and respecting others’ perspectives.

Collaboration — working together to improve learning and discussion.

Mutual growth — helping peers, educators, and institutes thrive.

Example:

✅ Offering constructive feedback on a study note.

❌ Posting mean or sarcastic comments aimed at mocking another user’s mistakes.

8.3 Platform Design Considerations

Sikhami may implement tools or features to promote psychological safety, such as:

Content warnings for sensitive topics.

Moderation of aggressive or harmful comments.

Recommendations for positive and educational content.

8.4 Enforcement

Violations of psychological safety rules may result in:

Removal of harmful content.

Temporary or permanent suspension for repeated or severe violations.

Users are encouraged to report toxic behavior to maintain a healthy platform.
