SSC CGL General Awareness & GK Notes 2026 — Free Download
General Awareness is the most unpredictable section in SSC CGL — and that’s exactly why it can be your biggest advantage. While most aspirants find Quant and Reasoning predictable, GA is where toppers create a gap. With Sikhami’s free, organized GK notes and daily current affairs updates, you can turn General Awareness from your weakest section into your strongest.
SSC CGL General Awareness — Complete Topic Breakdown
Indian Polity & Governance
This is the highest-weightage topic in SSC CGL GA. Key areas include the Indian Constitution (Preamble, Fundamental Rights, Directive Principles, Fundamental Duties, Amendment Process), Parliament & State Legislatures, Judiciary (Supreme Court, High Courts, PIL, judicial review), Constitutional Bodies (Election Commission, CAG, UPSC, Finance Commission), and Governance (Panchayati Raj, RTI Act, important government schemes).
Sikhami’s Polity notes cover every topic with one-liner facts that are directly useful for SSC CGL questions.
Indian History
SSC CGL covers all three periods. Ancient India includes Indus Valley Civilization, Vedic Period, Maurya Empire, Gupta Empire, Buddhism and Jainism. Medieval India covers Delhi Sultanate, Mughal Empire, Bhakti and Sufi movements, and Vijayanagara Empire. Modern India focuses on the Indian National Movement, important leaders, key events (1857 revolt, Non-Cooperation, Civil Disobedience, Quit India), social reformers, and post-independence events. Modern India is the most frequently tested history sub-topic.
Sikhami provides era-wise history notes with timeline charts for quick revision.
Geography
Indian Geography covers rivers, mountains, national parks, states and capitals, climate zones, soil types, and agriculture. World Geography includes continents, major rivers, deserts, mountain ranges, ocean currents, and atmospheric phenomena. Physical Geography covers Earth’s structure, plate tectonics, types of rocks, and weather systems.

Indian Economy
Key areas include basic concepts (GDP, GNP, inflation, fiscal policy, monetary policy), banking (RBI functions, repo rate, CRR, SLR), government schemes (PM Kisan, MGNREGA, Ayushman Bharat, Startup India), budget and taxation (GST, fiscal deficit), and international organizations (IMF, World Bank, WTO).
Sikhami’s economy notes are organized as one-liner fact sheets — perfect for last-minute revision.
Science
Physics covers laws of motion, light, sound, electricity, magnetism, and units of measurement. Chemistry includes elements, acids and bases, chemical reactions, and everyday chemistry. Biology covers human body systems, diseases, vitamins and deficiency diseases, and ecology basics. Biology questions in SSC CGL are often the easiest GA questions.
Sikhami’s science notes focus on “facts most asked in SSC” rather than textbook-level detail.
Current Affairs
This is where many aspirants lose marks. You cannot skip current affairs for SSC CGL — typically 5–8 questions come directly from events of the last 6–12 months. Cover national and international awards, sports events and winners, new government schemes, important appointments, international summits, science & technology developments, and books & authors.
Sikhami’s advantage: Join the “CGL GK & Current Affairs” club on Sikhami. Community members share daily current affairs updates. You don’t need to read newspapers or browse 10 websites — just open the club and you’ll find curated updates from fellow aspirants every single day.
SSC CGL GA Preparation Strategy
Start with Static GK — Polity, History, Geography, Economy. These don’t change and you can prepare them once and revise periodically.
Build Current Affairs daily — read 5 updates per day. Sikhami’s GK club makes this effortless.
Focus on Science basics — don’t go deep. SSC CGL tests basic facts, not complex theories.
Use Sikhami’s GA quizzes to test yourself. GA is a memory-heavy section — regular testing helps retention.
Revise weekly — facts are easy to forget. Set aside 1 hour every Sunday to revise the week’s current affairs and 30 minutes to review static GK notes.
The Sikhami Advantage for General Awareness
General Awareness is the only SSC CGL section where community matters more than coaching. No coaching institute can cover every GK fact. But a community of 1,000 aspirants, each sharing what they learned today, covers everything collectively.
That’s exactly what happens in Sikhami’s GK clubs. One person shares a Science fact, another posts a Polity question, someone else drops today’s current affairs. Together, the community covers more ground than any individual or coaching ever could.
