GK Questions with Answers (2026) for SSC, Railway and Bank Exams
Updated 10 October 2026 · Facts checked against the sources listed at the end
This is a revision list of GK questions with answers for 2026, made for the general awareness part of SSC, railway (RRB) and bank exams. Every question is static GK: facts about the Constitution, history, geography, the economy, science, culture, sports, important days, firsts and books that stay the same from one year to the next. Each answer was checked against an official or reputable source in October 2026, and a short line after it explains the fact, so you learn the reason along with the answer.
How to use it: cover everything after the word Answer, try to recall it, then check. Tick the questions you got right and mark the ones you missed. Next time, start with the marked ones. Working through one section a day and then mixing sections works far better than reading the whole page in one sitting.
Current affairs are left out on purpose. They change every year and need a separate, recent source.

How to Practise These GK Questions
Reading a list once feels productive, but it fades within days. What stays is what you have pulled out of memory yourself. A simple routine:
- Cover the answers and go through one section at a time, saying each answer before you look.
- Copy every miss, with its explanation line, into an error list, and revise only that list over the next few days.
- Once a section feels easy, mix questions from different sections, because exam papers jump between topics.
- Link facts into chains: Article 32 leads to the Supreme Court and writs; Plassey leads to Clive and Mir Jafar. One chain is easier to recall than a handful of loose facts.
- Play quiz battles with friends on Sikhami. Answering against someone with the clock running feels close to exam pressure, and the questions you lose are the ones you remember.
- If you find it hard to stay regular alone, revise with others in a study room or a club on Sikhami.
This page covers static GK only. Exams also ask current affairs, and the syllabus differs between SSC, RRB and bank exams. Check the official notification on your exam body's website (ssc.gov.in for SSC exams) for the exact syllabus and pattern.
Frequently asked questions
What is static GK?
Static GK is general knowledge that does not change with time: Articles of the Constitution, dates in history, geography, basic science, art and culture, and firsts. Current affairs, by contrast, covers recent events such as appointments, awards and new schemes, and has to be prepared afresh for each exam cycle.
Are these GK questions with answers still valid for 2026 exams?
Yes. Every question here is static, so the answers do not go out of date the way current affairs do. Each answer was checked against an official or reputable source in October 2026, and the sources are listed at the end of the page.
Which exams ask GK questions like these?
Questions of this kind appear in the general awareness part of SSC exams such as CGL, CHSL and MTS, in railway (RRB) recruitment exams, and in bank exams. The weight given to GK and the exact syllabus differ from exam to exam, so read the official notification for the exam you are taking.
How should I revise GK so that I do not forget it?
Test yourself instead of rereading: cover the answer, recall it, then check. Keep a list of the questions you got wrong and go back to it after a few days and again the following week. Short daily sessions work better than one long session just before the exam.
Where can I practise GK questions every day?
Previous years' papers of your exam are the best guide to its pattern and level. For quick daily recall, you can read free notes and play quiz battles with friends on Sikhami.
