Use Sikhami in ChatGPT

Coming soon. Waiting for review in ChatGPT's app directory. Until then, people on paid ChatGPT plans can add Sikhami themselves in developer mode.

Connect Sikhami to ChatGPT and you can ask about Sikhami in plain words: find a course or notes, practise a quiz one question at a time, see upcoming meetups, or check your own courses and notifications.

You log in to Sikhami once and choose what ChatGPT may do. ChatGPT never sees your password, and you can disconnect it at any time.

Things to ask ChatGPT

  • Find a free beginner course on GST on Sikhami.
  • Quiz me on percentages from Sikhami, one question at a time.
  • Which Sikhami meetups are coming up in Delhi?
  • How far have I got in my Sikhami courses?
  • Do I have new notifications on Sikhami?
  • Show this week's admission enquiries for my institute. (For institute owners and admins.)

Add Sikhami now, in developer mode

Developer mode is a beta in ChatGPT for the Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Edu plans. On Business, Enterprise and Edu, an admin may have to switch it on first.

  1. In ChatGPT, open Settings, then Apps (on some accounts it is called Apps & Connectors).
  2. Open Advanced settings and switch on Developer mode.
  3. Go back to Apps and choose Create. Name the app Sikhami, enter https://sikhami.com/mcp as the server address, and choose OAuth for sign-in.
  4. A Sikhami page opens. Log in if you are asked to, read what ChatGPT will be able to do, switch off Act for you or Your institute's admissions if you do not want them, and select Allow.
  5. In a chat, click +, choose Developer mode and switch Sikhami on.

OpenAI moves these menus from time to time. If a step does not match what you see, OpenAI's help article on developer mode and MCP apps has the current steps. In developer mode ChatGPT also asks you to confirm before anything that changes your account.

Once Sikhami is in ChatGPT's apps

When OpenAI approves the listing you will not need developer mode: find Sikhami in ChatGPT's apps, connect it, and allow it on the Sikhami page the same way. This page will say so on the day it happens.

Sikhami's app sells nothing inside ChatGPT. Paid courses, notes and meetups open on their own page on sikhami.com.

It asks you before it changes anything

Reading is instant. Sikhami tells the assistant to check with you before anything that changes your account: joining or leaving a meetup, publishing a post, or adding an admission enquiry. Posts are public as soon as they are made, so read the post it shows you before you say yes.

What ChatGPT may do on Sikhami

  • See your Sikhami account (always included): Your profile, your courses and progress, the meetups you joined, your notifications and new followers, and everything public on Sikhami.
  • Act for you (you choose): Join or leave free meetups and publish posts with pictures or videos as you. It can never buy anything, send messages or delete your content.
  • Your institute's admissions (you choose): For institutes you own or run: read admission enquiries (names, phone numbers, emails) and add new ones.

No app can buy anything, pay, send or read messages, run ads, delete your content or see your password. Private profiles and learners under 18 never appear in any app.

Disconnect ChatGPT

  1. On sikhami.com, go to Settings, then Connected apps.
  2. Under Apps you allowed (or Personal access tokens, if you used one), find ChatGPT.
  3. Select Disconnect (or Delete for a token) and confirm. It stops working with your account at once.

Frequently asked questions

Does it cost anything?
No. Sikhami charges nothing for this. ChatGPT's own plans and limits apply.
Can ChatGPT buy a course for me?
No. No connected app can buy or pay. ChatGPT gives you the course's page on sikhami.com, where you buy it yourself.
Is it the same as Sikhami in Claude?
Yes. ChatGPT and Claude use the same Sikhami connection and the same actions; only their menus differ.
It says it needs another permission. What do I do?
You switched that permission off when you connected. Disconnect the app in Connected apps, connect it again, and leave the permission on this time.
