Use Sikhami in Cursor
Works today. Add Sikhami as a remote MCP server. Sikhami is also waiting for review in xAI's marketplace, which lists plugins for Cursor and Grok Bot.
Cursor's agent can use Sikhami the same way Claude and ChatGPT do: search courses and notes, quiz you, show meetups and read your own Sikhami account. It is handy if you build on Sikhami's API, or study while you code.
Sikhami needs nothing else from you: no API key and no client id. Cursor registers itself when you sign in.
Things to ask Cursor's agent
- Find Sikhami notes on JavaScript closures and summarise the best one.
- Quiz me on SQL joins from Sikhami.
- Which Sikhami tools do you have, and what does each one need?
- Show my Sikhami profile.
Add Sikhami to Cursor
Open Cursor's MCP settings (Cursor Settings, then MCP, or Tools & MCP in newer versions) and add a new MCP server. Or edit the file ~/.cursor/mcp.json yourself (or .cursor/mcp.json inside one project), and add the sikhami entry next to any servers already there:
{
"mcpServers": {
"sikhami": { "url": "https://sikhami.com/mcp" }
}
}- Save. Cursor shows that Sikhami needs you to sign in; click to sign in.
- A Sikhami page opens. Log in if you are asked to, read what Cursor will be able to do, switch off Act for you or Your institute's admissions if you do not want them, and select Allow.
- In the agent chat, ask for something from Sikhami. Cursor asks before it runs a tool, unless you set it to run tools on its own.
It asks you before it changes anything
Reading is instant. Sikhami tells the assistant to check with you before anything that changes your account: joining or leaving a meetup, publishing a post, or adding an admission enquiry. Posts are public as soon as they are made, so read the post it shows you before you say yes.
What Cursor may do on Sikhami
- See your Sikhami account (always included): Your profile, your courses and progress, the meetups you joined, your notifications and new followers, and everything public on Sikhami.
- Act for you (you choose): Join or leave free meetups and publish posts with pictures or videos as you. It can never buy anything, send messages or delete your content.
- Your institute's admissions (you choose): For institutes you own or run: read admission enquiries (names, phone numbers, emails) and add new ones.
No app can buy anything, pay, send or read messages, run ads, delete your content or see your password. Private profiles and learners under 18 never appear in any app.
Disconnect Cursor
- On sikhami.com, go to Settings, then Connected apps.
- Under Apps you allowed (or Personal access tokens, if you used one), find Cursor.
- Select Disconnect (or Delete for a token) and confirm. It stops working with your account at once.
Frequently asked questions
- Does it cost anything?
- No. Sikhami charges nothing for this. Cursor's own plans and limits apply.
- Can I use a token instead of signing in?
- Yes. Make a personal access token in Connected apps and add
"headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer skh_pat_..." }to thesikhamientry. Keep that file out of git, because the token works like a password. - It says it needs another permission. What do I do?
- You switched that permission off when you connected. Disconnect the app in Connected apps, connect it again, and leave the permission on this time.
