Free Tuition App for Teachers and Tuition Centres: Batches, Attendance, Fees and Courses

Updated 12 October 2026

Sikhami is a free tuition app for tuition teachers and tuition centres. In one place, in the Android app and on the website, you run batches with a weekly timetable, mark attendance, keep the fee book and issue receipts, make video courses with tests and certificates, list classroom courses that students apply to, and get a public page for your classes. There is no subscription.

This page is for teachers who run tuition, at home or in a centre, and want one app instead of a register, a fee diary and a timetable on the wall. It explains what Sikhami does and how, what it does not do yet, and how to choose a tuition app, whichever one you pick. If you are a student or parent looking for a tutor, there is a short section for you near the end. Everything here is part of Sikhami's free LMS for coaching institutes.

What you get, free

On Sikhami, your tuition classes are set up as an institute, even if you teach alone from home. That is where all the tools below live. There is no plan to upgrade to and no trial that runs out.

Batches, timetable and attendance

Make a batch for each group you teach, for example Class 10 Maths, evening. Give it where classes happen (in class, online or hybrid), the address or a Google Meet or Zoom link, start and end dates, seats, its teachers and a weekly timetable. The Timetable shows the week as a grid.

In each class, tap present, late or absent against every student and note the topic taught. Late counts as present in the totals. Students you add to a batch by their Sikhami username see their own attendance percentage and fee status under My batches. Our student attendance app page explains attendance in more detail.

Fees and receipts

Give each student a fee plan: the total, split into 1 to 24 monthly instalments, with the first due date. The fee book shows what is billed, received and overdue, and you can filter it or search by name, phone or batch.

When a parent pays, record the payment with how it was paid (cash, UPI, bank transfer, card, cheque or other) and choose Save and issue receipt. The receipt is numbered for you, shows the balance due, and can be printed or saved as a PDF; in the Android app it is shared as text. Fees are paid to you directly, so Sikhami takes nothing from them. Our fee management software page covers the fee book step by step.

Video courses and classroom courses

Illustration: a video course curriculum, with tests and a certificate of completion at the end.

If you record lessons, turn them into a video course on the website. Upload your videos (each file under 2 GB, in MP4, WebM or OGG) or use a YouTube playlist you already have. Arrange lectures in sections, mark some as free previews, add multiple-choice tests with a pass mark, and keep or switch off the certificate of completion. Students learn on the website and in the Android app, and their progress is saved.

Leave a course free, or set prices for 6 months, 1 year, 2 years or lifetime access, and students pay online. Courses made from a YouTube playlist are always free for students.

For classes you teach in person, list a classroom course with its dates, class days, times, seats and fee. Students apply, you confirm or reject each one, and every confirmation takes a seat. They pay you directly. Confirming a student does not put them in a batch, so you add them to the batch yourself.

Your page, and help from staff

Your institute page shows your logo, about section, courses and teachers, and learners can follow you, read reviews and ask questions. Each course has its own page and link to share on WhatsApp or on posters. Learners find you by browsing the categories you teach, and the Face to face list shows classroom courses nearest first to learners who share their area.

If others help you, add them by their Sikhami username. An admin runs batches, students, attendance and fees; a teacher marks attendance for their batches; an accountant keeps the fee book and issues receipts. Only you see your institute's details, courses, online students and earnings.

Set it up, step by step

  1. Sign up on Sikhami, open Learning studio and choose New institute. Type the name of your tuition classes, pick what you teach, and choose Create institute. It is saved as a draft.
  2. In Details, add your logo, a username, an about section, your email and phone (each confirmed with a code), your full address and your location on the map. Your page needs these before it can go live.
  3. Under Batches, create your batches with their weekly timetable and add your students.
  4. Under Fees, give each student a fee plan.
  5. Under Courses, add a classroom course, or a video course on the website, when you are ready.

How to choose a tuition app

Search for a tuition app and you will find two different things mixed together: apps that help teachers run tuition, and apps where students look for tutors or online classes. As a teacher you want the first kind, ideally with a little of the second. No one tuition app suits every teacher. The right one fits how you teach, and you will actually open it every day.

The kinds of apps tutors use

  • Live class tools, such as Google Meet and Zoom, for teaching online. They run the class itself; you still need somewhere to keep batches, attendance and fees.
  • Tuition management apps, for batches, attendance, fees and receipts.
  • Course platforms, for selling recorded lessons.
  • Tutor listings, where students and parents look for teachers.

Many teachers end up using two or three of these. Our guide to online teaching platforms compares them in detail.

Ten questions to ask before you choose

  1. Is it free, a free trial, or free only up to a number of students? Find out what happens when the trial ends.
  2. Does it take a share of the fees parents pay you? An app that only records fees you collect should not.
  3. Does it run on the phone you use, and on a computer when you want a bigger screen?
  4. Can you set up a batch with its timetable in a few minutes?
  5. Is attendance a tap per student, with a separate mark for late?
  6. Does it handle fees in instalments and give numbered receipts?
  7. Can someone who helps you record fees without seeing everything else?
  8. Can students see their own attendance and fees? Do you need a parent login, and does the app have one?
  9. Does it help new students find you, or does it only work behind the scenes?
  10. Who can see your students' names and phone numbers?

Try any app with one real batch for two weeks before you move everything to it. If you and your students are still using it at the end of the fortnight, it suits you.

Moving your tuition onto an app

Tell families before you switch: what changes for them, such as receipts on a phone instead of a slip of paper, and what stays the same, such as how and when they pay. Start at the beginning of a month, enter each student once, and keep the paper register for the first few weeks only as a backup. After that, stop, because two records that disagree are worse than one.

Looking for a tutor? A note for students and parents

If you came here looking for tuition rather than an app to run it, you can browse teacher profiles on Sikhami's teachers list.

Wherever you search, a few checks help. Ask for a demo class, ask how many students are in a batch, check the timings and the travel, read what other families say, and agree the fee and how it is paid before the first month.

How Sikhami earns, and what stays free

Setting up your tuition on Sikhami, its page, batches, attendance, the fee book, receipts, staff, classroom courses and free video courses cost nothing, with no subscription. Fees parents pay you for batches and classroom courses never pass through Sikhami, so it takes nothing from them.

Sikhami earns only when a learner buys a paid video course online: it keeps a share of that sale, and Google Play takes its fee as well when the purchase is made in the Android app. Your share is paid to the bank account you add.

Good to know before you start

  • Video courses are made on the website. Batches, attendance, fees, staff and classroom courses also work in the Android app.
  • There is no parent login, and Sikhami sends no fee reminders or attendance alerts. Students added by username see their own attendance percentage and fee status.
  • Batch fees are recorded, not collected: parents pay you directly.
  • Live classes run on Google Meet or Zoom through the batch's link; Sikhami does not host them.
  • Your page needs a full address and map location before it goes live, and learners using the app see your address with directions. Keep this in mind if you teach from home.
  • Students are added to batches by hand; there is no bulk import.

Frequently asked questions

Which is the best tuition app?

No one app suits every teacher; it depends on whether you need an app to run your tuition, to teach online or to find students. To run tuition, look for batches with a timetable, quick attendance, fees with receipts and a clear price. Sikhami is a free option that covers these on Android and the website, and also gives you a public page.

Which online tuition is best?

The one that fits the student: the right subject and level, a teacher whose demo class works for the child, a batch size you are comfortable with, suitable timings and a clear fee. Ask for a demo and read what other families say before you pay. On Sikhami, learners can browse teacher profiles on the teachers list.

What are the best tutoring apps?

Tutors usually combine a few kinds: a live class tool such as Google Meet or Zoom, an app for batches, attendance and fees, and somewhere students can find them. Sikhami does the second part free, along with video courses and a public page, and keeps each batch's Meet or Zoom link.

Which study app is 100% free?

On Sikhami, joining is free, free courses cost nothing to take, and courses made from a YouTube playlist are always free for students; some teachers also sell paid video courses. For teachers, setting up and running batches, attendance, fees and free courses costs nothing. Sikhami earns only from paid online course sales.

Can I use Sikhami if I teach tuition alone from home?

Yes. Set up your tuition classes as an institute, even with yourself as the only teacher, and use batches, attendance and fees as any centre would. Publishing your page needs your address and map location, which learners using the app can see with directions.

Does Sikhami work on Android?

Yes. Batches, attendance, fees, staff and classroom courses work in the Android app and on the website. Video courses are made on the website, and students learn from them on both.
