Best LMS in India for Coaching Institutes: How to Choose, With 8 Options Compared

Updated 18 October 2026 · Facts checked against the sources listed at the end

No single LMS in India suits every coaching institute. The right one depends on what you need most: your own app, live classes, video protection, classroom tools or new students. Costs differ too. Moodle's software has no licence fee, and qualifying schools get Google Classroom at no charge. Others charge a yearly or monthly plan fee, and some also take a fee on each sale. Sikhami is free to set up, with no subscription, and gives you a public page where learners can find you. It does not give you an app of your own.

This guide is for coaching institute owners and tutors in India who are choosing an LMS (learning management system). It starts with what to look for. Then come a summary table of eight options and a short, fair section on each. It ends with which one fits which kind of institute, and the questions to ask in a sales demo. The options are in alphabetical order, not ranked.

What to look for in an LMS in India

Sikhami wrote this comparison, and we make Sikhami, so please read it with that in mind. We checked every detail about Classplus, Edmingle, Google Classroom, Graphy, Learnyst, Moodle and Teachmint on their own websites and Google Play listings on 18 October 2026. Prices and features change, so check them again before you decide. Classplus, Edmingle, Google Classroom, Graphy, Learnyst, Moodle and Teachmint are trademarks of their owners; Sikhami is not connected with any of them.

Start with your students. Many coaching students in India study on an Android phone, often on mobile data, so the LMS must work well there. Then check these points.

  • Total cost for a year: the plan fee, taxes, any fee per sale and payment gateway charges.
  • Your own app: an app in your institute's name, a shared app, or a website only.
  • Live classes: built in, linked to Zoom or Google Meet, or not offered.
  • Tests: the question types you need, such as MCQ, numerical or written answers.
  • Classroom tools: batches, attendance, fee plans and receipts, if you also teach face to face.
  • Video protection: DRM and download controls, if copying worries you.
  • New students: whether learners can find you there, or you bring every student yourself.
  • Your data: whether you can export students, payments and marks if you leave.

It also lists video lectures, a marketing dashboard and your own website. Its blog also describes fee collection inside your app, with reminders and digital receipts. Classplus does not publish a price list on its website. It asks you to book a free demo. See our Classplus alternative page and Classplus vs Graphy vs Teachmint.

Google Classroom

Classroom is where you post work, grade it and run quizzes made in Google Forms, which can mark them automatically. People over 13 can use it with a personal Google Account, which allows up to 250 teachers and students per class. Qualifying schools and colleges get it at no charge through Google Workspace for Education Fundamentals. Google lists tutoring programmes and for-profit education companies among those that do not qualify. See our Google Classroom page.

Graphy

Graphy is built for creators, coaches and educators who sell courses, memberships, webinars and digital products under their own brand. Every plan includes a website builder, your own branded Android app, free custom domain support and unlimited live sessions. Or you can buy MoodleCloud hosting from its makers, with yearly plans from ₹15,190 for 50 users in its rupee view, billed in Australian dollars. Moodle has many quiz question types, badges and a free app. Someone must install updates and take backups. See our Moodle alternative page and Moodle vs Google Classroom.

Sikhami

Sikhami is a free LMS on a social network for learners. Setting up an institute is free, with no subscription. You get video courses from uploaded videos or a YouTube playlist, with multiple-choice tests and certificates. You also get batches with a weekly timetable, attendance, a fee book with numbered receipts and staff roles. Your institute and each course get a public page that learners can follow and find by browsing categories. It has no app of your own, no built-in live classes and no DRM. See everything in Sikhami's free LMS.

Teachmint

Teachmint calls itself a classroom technology company. Its core offering is Teachmint X, an interactive panel with AI teaching tools, sold to institutes and registered businesses, not to individual consumers. Its Android app offers live classes with video, chat and screen sharing, recordings, AI-made homework and quizzes, attendance and announcements. A plans page lists a Free Plan for its Connected Classroom offering and an Enterprise Plan through sales, with no prices shown. See our Teachmint alternative page.

Which one fits which kind of institute

  • You want your own app with live classes inside it: try Classplus, Graphy, Learnyst and Edmingle.
  • You sell mock tests and test series: look at Learnyst's question types and percentile ranking, and ask the others what they offer.
  • Copying of your videos is your main worry: Graphy and Learnyst list DRM. Sikhami has none.
  • You train professionals or run skilling programmes: Edmingle is built for that.
  • You have technical help and want full control: Moodle on your own server.
  • You are a school, or you set homework for classes you already teach: Google Classroom.

  • You run classroom batches, want to start free and want learners to find you: Sikhami.

You can also use two tools: one for the work you already do, and one to be found or to sell courses.

Good to know about Sikhami before you start

Setting up and using Sikhami is free, with no subscription. Sikhami earns only when a learner buys something paid online, such as a video course, notes or a club. It keeps a share of that sale, and Google Play also takes its fee on purchases in the Android app. Before you save a price, Sikhami shows what you will receive per sale on the website and in the app. Classroom and batch fees are paid to you directly, and Sikhami takes nothing from them.

  • Sikhami does not give you your own app, your own web address or a website builder. Students use the Sikhami website and Android app with a free Sikhami account.
  • Live classes run on Google Meet or Zoom. A batch keeps the link, but the class is not hosted on Sikhami.
  • There is no DRM, download protection or screen-recording protection.
  • Tests are multiple choice with one correct answer.
  • The fee book records fees you collect yourself. Parents do not pay batch fees through Sikhami, and there are no fee reminders.
  • Video courses are created on the website. Batches, attendance, fees, your team and classroom courses also work in the Android app.

Frequently asked questions

Which LMS should I choose for my institute in India?

No single LMS suits every institute. For an app in your own name, compare Classplus, Graphy, Learnyst and Edmingle. If you have technical help, Moodle is free software. For classes you already teach, Google Classroom works with a personal Google Account. Sikhami suits institutes that want to start free, run classroom batches and be found by learners.

Which LMS is free in India?

Moodle's software has no licence fee, though you pay for a server or for MoodleCloud. Google Classroom works with a personal Google Account, and qualifying schools get it at no charge. Teachmint lists a Free Plan for its Connected Classroom offering. Sikhami is free to set up and earns a share only of paid online sales.

How much does an LMS cost in India?

It varies a lot. On their own pricing pages, Edmingle Core is ₹7,499 a month billed annually and Learnyst Professional is ₹8,999 a month, both plus taxes. Graphy Launch is ₹24,999 a year plus a fee on each sale. Classplus does not publish prices and asks you to book a free demo. Always ask for the total for one year.

Which LMS gives my institute its own app?

Classplus says it gives coaching institutes their own app. Graphy includes a branded Android app on every plan. Learnyst offers a branded Android app from its Premium plan, and Edmingle from Prime. Moodle offers a branded Moodle app for purchase. Sikhami does not give you your own app.

Which LMS has live classes?

Classplus, Graphy, Learnyst, Edmingle and Teachmint all list live classes or live sessions. Learnyst also works with Zoom and can embed Google Meet. Classroom works alongside Google Meet. Sikhami does not host live classes; each batch keeps your Meet or Zoom link.

Can I use two LMS platforms together?

Yes. You can keep one tool for the classes you already run and add another to be found or to sell courses. For example, keep your current app and add a free institute page and one course on Sikhami. Keep each student's records in one place so fees and marks do not get mixed up.
