How Sikhami earns, in plain words: setting up and using Sikhami is free, with no subscription. Sikhami earns only when a learner buys something paid online, such as a video course or notes. It keeps a share of that sale, and Google Play also takes its fee on purchases in the Android app. Before you save a price, Sikhami shows what you will receive per sale on the website and in the app. Classroom and batch fees are paid to you directly, and Sikhami takes nothing from them.

When Graphy is the better choice

  • You want an app in your own brand. Every Graphy plan includes a branded Android app, and Rise adds iOS. Sikhami does not give you your own app.
  • You want your own website and web address. Graphy has an AI website builder and free custom domain support. On Sikhami you get a free page, not your own domain.
  • You run live classes or webinars and want them inside your platform.
  • You need content protection. Graphy lists DRM protection on every plan shown. Sikhami has no DRM or download protection.
  • You sell memberships, communities or digital products to an audience across India and abroad. You also want marketing emails and AI sales agents in the same place.

When Sikhami is the better choice

  • You want to start without a yearly fee. Setting up an institute on Sikhami is free, with no subscription and no trial that runs out.
  • You run a coaching institute with classroom batches. A weekly timetable, attendance, fee plans in instalments, a fee book and numbered receipts are free.
  • You want learners to find you. Sikhami is a social network for learners, and your institute and each course get a public page that learners browse by category.
  • Your lectures are on YouTube. A playlist can become a free course with tests and a certificate, and Re-sync brings in new videos.
  • You want to see what you keep before you sell. When you type a price, Sikhami shows what you will receive per sale on the website and in the app. A How button shows the sum.

How to try Sikhami alongside Graphy

You can keep your course website where it is and try Sikhami with one free course or one batch.

Illustration: a video course curriculum, with tests and a certificate of completion at the end.
  1. Sign up on Sikhami, open Learning studio and choose New institute.
  2. Type the institute name, pick what you teach, and choose Create institute. It is saved as a draft.
  3. In Details, add your logo, username, about section, email, phone, address and map location. Email and phone are each confirmed with a code. Your institute needs all of these to go live.
  4. Under Courses, choose New course, then Video course and YouTube playlist, and paste a public playlist link.
  5. Add a test in its own section, and leave the certificate on or switch it off.
  6. Under Batches and Fees, add a classroom batch, its students and their fee plans.
  7. Share your institute page on WhatsApp, and see how learners respond.

Video courses are made on the website. A paid course uses uploaded videos, because playlist courses are always free for students.

Questions to ask before you sign a yearly plan

These questions help with any platform. Ask them in the demo and keep the answers in writing.

  1. Which plans and prices apply to me in India, and is GST added on top?
  2. What is the transaction fee on each sale, and are payment gateway charges extra?
  3. If I was a Spayee customer, which contract and prices apply to me now?
  4. Whose name is the Android app published under, and what happens to it if I stop paying?
  5. How many live classes can run at the same time on my plan?
  6. Can I export my students, sales records and content if I leave?
  7. Is there a refund if I cancel during the year?

We have also written about Graphy alternatives and compared Sikhami with Learnyst.

Good to know before you start

  • Sikhami does not give you a branded app, your own web address or a website builder. Students use the Sikhami website and Android app with a free account.

  • There is no DRM, download protection or screen-recording protection.
  • Tests are multiple choice with one correct answer.
  • Students pay for paid video courses online. Batch fees are recorded in the fee book, but parents do not pay them through Sikhami.
  • Students need a free Sikhami account to enrol in a course or apply for a classroom course.
