Bank and tax details (KYC)
Add the bank account Sikhami pays your earnings to, with your PAN, address and GST details, and learn what each KYC status means.
Updated 22 October 2026
Before Sikhami can pay you for your sales, it needs to know where to send the money and who you are for tax. You give both on the Bank and tax details page. Sikhami's team then checks them. This check is called KYC, short for "know your customer".
Only you and Sikhami's payouts team can see this page. Nothing on it is shown on your profile or on your institute's page.
Where to find it
Open Settings & privacy: on a computer from More at the bottom of the left menu, on a phone from the ⋯ on your profile. In the Money group, choose Bank and tax details. You can also go straight to Bank and tax details.
There are other ways in:
- On the Earnings page, the bank box has a Change button, or Add bank details if you have none yet.
- The KYC note on the Earnings page has an Add details, Fix details or Review button.
- In the Learning studio, your institute's Details tab has an Edit payout bank details button.
At the top of the page, a note shows your KYC status. It is explained further down.
Fill in the form
- Under Bank account, enter the Account holder name, Bank name, Account number and IFSC code. You can also add a UPI ID (optional).
- Under PAN and who you are, choose your Type of seller and enter your PAN. When you type a PAN, a Name as on PAN card box appears. Type the name exactly as it is printed on the card.
- Under Address, enter your Legal name (your full name, or your business's registered name), Address, City, PIN code and State. These go on the tax documents Sikhami gives you.
- Under GST, turn on I am registered for GST only if you have a GSTIN, then type your GSTIN. Most individual creators are not registered for GST; leave the switch off if you do not have a GSTIN.
- Tick I confirm these details are correct and belong to me/my business. You must tick it every time you save.
- Press Save details. You see the message "Saved. Sikhami will check your details."
Type of seller
Choose one: Individual, Sole proprietorship, Hindu Undivided Family (HUF), Partnership firm, Limited liability partnership (LLP), Company, Trust or Something else.
What each field must look like
| Field | Rule |
|---|---|
| Account holder name | The name on your bank account. At least 2 characters. |
| Bank name | At least 2 characters. |
| Account number | Digits only, 9 to 18 digits. |
| IFSC code | 11 characters: 4 letters, a zero, then 6 letters or digits. For example SBIN0001234. |
| UPI ID (optional) | For example name@bank. |
| PAN | 10 characters: 5 letters, 4 digits and a letter. For example ABCDE1234F. Required if you are registered for GST. |
| Name as on PAN card | Required when you give a PAN. It is saved in capital letters, as on the card. |
| PIN code | Six digits. It cannot start with 0. |
| GSTIN | 15 letters and digits: a two-digit state code (like 27 for Maharashtra), your PAN, then three more characters. Characters 3 to 12 must be the PAN you typed above. |
| State | Search by state name or GST code. When you type a full GSTIN, the state fills in by itself, and it must be the state of your GSTIN. |
In the PAN, IFSC and GSTIN boxes, spaces and dashes are removed and letters become capitals as you type.
A mistake is shown while you type once the value is full length, or when you press Save details. The page will not save until it is fixed.
Two checks only warn you and do not stop you saving:
- The 4th letter of a PAN tells what kind of holder it belongs to: P is a person, H a Hindu Undivided Family, C a company, F a firm or LLP, T a trust. If it does not match the Type of seller you chose, the page asks you to check both.
- If the last character of your GSTIN does not match the rest of it, the page asks you to check it for a typo.
KYC status
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| KYC · Details missing | Something is still needed. The note lists it: bank account, PAN, name as on PAN, type of seller, legal name and address, GSTIN, or the declaration. |
| KYC · Waiting for review | Your details are in, and Sikhami's team is checking them. Payouts start as soon as they are verified. |
| KYC · Verified | Sikhami has checked your details, and the note shows the date. Payouts go to this account. |
| KYC · Needs changes | Sikhami could not verify your details. The note says why. Correct them and save again; payouts wait until then. |
You get a notification when your details are verified (Payout details verified) and when they need attention (Payout details need attention).
You can save the form without a PAN, but Sikhami cannot verify your details, and so cannot pay you, until you add one. Sales made while you have no PAN also have TDS taken at a higher rate.
Change your details
You can change your details at any time. Open the page, edit, tick the declaration again and press Save details.
Some changes send your details back for checking, because they change where your money goes or how it is taxed: the account number, IFSC code, UPI ID, account holder name, PAN, name on PAN, GST registration, GSTIN, state and type of seller. After such a change your status goes back to Waiting for review (or Details missing), and no payout goes out until Sikhami has checked the new details.
If your details were verified and you change the bank account, UPI ID, PAN or GSTIN, the page warns you first with Payouts pause until re-verified. Press Save and re-verify to go ahead.
Changing only the bank name, legal name, address, city or PIN code does not send verified details back for checking.
If you did not make the change
Whenever your bank or tax details change in a way that needs a new check, Sikhami sends you a Payout details changed notification. If your email address is verified, you also get an email. If you did not make the change, write to help@sikhami.com straight away and change your password. No money is sent to new details until they are checked.
How Sikhami uses these details
- Bank account: where your payouts go. The same account is used for your institute's course sales.
- PAN: the TDS Sikhami deducts from your sales is reported against your PAN, so it shows in your Form 26AS.
- GSTIN: if you are registered for GST, Sikhami collects GST TCS on your sales and reports it against your GSTIN.
- Legal name, address and state: printed on the monthly commission invoice Sikhami issues to you for its fee.
To learn how these taxes work, read Taxes on your sales. To see your payouts, read Earnings and payouts.
Questions
Do I need to be registered for GST to sell on Sikhami?
No. Turn on I am registered for GST only if you have a GSTIN. Most individual creators are not registered.
Can I be paid to a UPI ID only?
No. The form needs a bank account number and an IFSC code before it saves. The UPI ID (optional) box is extra.
I own an institute. Do I fill this in again for it?
No. The details on this page are also used for your institute's course sales. If your institute has its own GSTIN for buyer invoices, add it in the institute's Details tab, in GSTIN (optional).
What happens after I save?
If everything is filled in, your status becomes Waiting for review and Sikhami's team checks your details. You get a notification when they are verified or need changes.
My status says Needs changes. What do I do?
Read the note at the top of the page. It says what Sikhami could not verify. Correct it and press Save details again.
Who can see my bank details?
Only you and Sikhami's payouts team. They are not on your profile, and team members of your institute cannot see them.
