Memberships
Sell a paid membership to your fans: name it, describe what members get, price 1, 3, 6 or 12 months, and post members-only clips in your Members only tab. Also how fans join and renew.
Updated 22 October 2026
A membership lets your fans pay you for a set time, like a channel membership on other apps. While their membership runs, they can watch the clips you keep for members. Everyone else sees those clips locked.
Only clips can be members-only. You cannot lock a post, a poll or a voice post. This article explains how to sell a membership and how fans join one.
Set up your membership
Open More, then Creator studio (on a phone, open your profile and select ⋯). The section Earn from your audience has a card called Paid membership. It says Off until you set a price.
- Select Name it. Under What it is called, type a name (up to 40 characters; if you leave it empty, it is called "Membership"). Under What members get, describe what members get (up to 200 characters). Select Save.
- In the Price card below it, select Set prices.
- Type a price next to each period you want to sell: 1 month, 3 months, 6 months or 1 year. Leave the others empty.
- Under each price you see what you receive per sale on sikhami.com and in the Android app. Select How to see the full sum.
- Select Save.
Your membership is now on sale. The Paid membership card shows your prices and how many members you have right now.
- Prices come in fixed steps. An amount between two steps is saved as the next step up. The lowest price is ₹25 and the highest is ₹1,00,000. See Sell on Sikhami.
- Each period has its own price, so you can make a year cheaper than twelve single months.
- To change your prices, select Change in the Price card.
Sikhami keeps a fee of 20% of the money that reaches it and pays you the rest. See What you earn on Sikhami.
Post members-only clips
Once your membership is on sale, the clip upload page shows two choices: Everyone and Members only.
- Open Create and choose Clip.
- Pick your video and fill in the details as usual. See Upload a clip.
- Choose Members only.
- Post the clip.
Only your paying members can watch it. Everyone else sees a locked card with no video, no thumbnail and no caption, even if someone shares the link.
- You choose Everyone or Members only when you upload. The website has no option to change it later.
- Members-only clips appear only in the Members only tab of your profile. They are not shown in the Clips feed or in your profile's Clips tab.
- A members-only clip cannot be shared to a story.
The Members only tab on your profile
When you sell a membership, your profile gets a Members only tab.
- People who are not members see a box with your membership's name, what members get, and a Join button with your lowest price. Below it they see your members-only clips as locked tiles.
- Your members, and you, see the clips and can watch them.
- On your own profile the tab has an Upload clip button.
- Your profile also shows a Join button to everyone who is not a member.
Join a membership
If you are a fan and want to join someone's membership:
- Open the creator's profile and select Join (it shows the lowest price, for example "Join from ₹99"). You can also open their Members only tab and select Join there.
- On the checkout page, if the creator sells more than one period, pick one under How long.
- Select Pay and complete the payment through Razorpay.
The button on the creator's profile then says Member. Point at it to see the date your membership runs until. Your payment and its invoice are in Settings & privacy, under My orders and payments, in the Payments tab.
Expiry and renewal
- A membership runs for the period you paid for, counted in calendar months from the day you pay. For example, 1 month bought on 31 January runs until 28 February.
- It does not renew by itself. Nothing is charged automatically.
- When it ends, the clips lock again and the button on the creator's profile says Renew. Select it, pick a period and pay.
- While your membership is still running, you cannot pay for the next period in advance.
If the creator stops selling
A creator can turn the membership off by clearing every price. Nobody who already paid loses anything: their membership runs to its end date. New people cannot join while it is off.
Your members and your money
The Paid membership card in the Creator studio shows how many members you have right now. You get a "New Member" notification each time someone joins, and every sale appears on your Earnings page in Settings & privacy. See Earnings and payouts.
Questions
Can I make a post members-only?
No. Only clips can be members-only.
Can I change a clip to members-only after I post it?
Not on the website. You choose Everyone or Members only when you upload the clip.
Does a membership renew automatically?
No. Each payment covers one period. When it ends, the member pays again to renew.
What happens to my members if I change my prices?
Current members keep their membership until it ends. The new prices apply to new members and to renewals.
Can I join my own membership?
No. You can always watch your own members-only clips without joining.
What exactly is locked for non-members?
On Sikhami, members-only clips are the only thing a membership locks. If you promise other things under What members get, giving them is up to you.
