Community guidelines

A short summary, in simple words, of Sikhami's Community Guidelines: what is allowed, what is not, and what happens when someone breaks the rules.

Updated 22 October 2026

Sikhami is a place where students, teachers, institutes and creators learn together. The Community Guidelines are the rules everyone on Sikhami agrees to follow. They apply to posts, clips, comments, messages, notes, reviews and everything else you share.

This page is a short summary. The full text is on the Community Guidelines page, and that page is the one that counts.

Be respectful

  • Treat everyone with kindness and respect: students, teachers, creators and institutes.
  • No harassment or bullying. This includes insults, repeated unwanted messages or comments, following someone around Sikhami to upset them, and group attacks to shame someone.
  • No hate speech. Do not attack or encourage hostility against people because of their religion, caste, gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, nationality, disability or illness.
  • Disagree with ideas, not people. Give feedback that helps.
  • Satire is allowed only when it is clearly labelled and does not target a person.

Be real

  • Use your real identity where you can, especially with teachers and institutes.
  • Do not pretend to be someone else, and do not make fake profiles.
  • Do not lie about your qualifications, marks, ranks or where you study or work.

No spam, scams or fake activity

  • No spam: repeated, irrelevant or promotional posts, bulk messages, the same comment again and again, or unrelated hashtags just to be seen.
  • No clickbait: titles, thumbnails or captions must match what the content really is. Promotion must not be disguised as study material.
  • No scams: fake courses or certificates, leaked exam papers, get-rich-quick schemes, or tricks to get people's passwords, OTPs or payment details.
  • No fake engagement: do not use bots, fake accounts or groups that trade likes, views, follows or comments.

Share correct information

  • Check facts before you post, especially exam dates, results, answer keys and news about institutes or education policy.
  • If you are not sure, say so, and name your source.
  • Do not upload copied or made-up notes, quizzes or courses. Give credit to the original creator.
  • Do not share health advice that could cause harm. Use trusted sources.
  • If you make a mistake, correct your post.

Keep content safe

  • No nudity, pornography or sexual content, and no sexual harassment.
  • No graphic violence or gore, and no threats.
  • Do not promote self-harm, suicide, eating disorders or dangerous challenges. Talk about mental health in a caring way and encourage people to get help.
  • Protect children: never share or ask for sexual content involving anyone under 18, and never pressure young users to share personal details or meet strangers.
  • No terrorism or violent extremism.
  • Do not sell or promote weapons, drugs, alcohol, tobacco, prescription medicines without authorisation, fake goods, pirated study material or exam leaks.

Content that exploits children leads to an immediate permanent ban and a report to law enforcement.

Study and public-interest exceptions

Some sensitive material is allowed when it clearly helps learning or public discussion, for example an anatomy diagram in a biology lesson, or historical footage for a history class. It must be:

  • clearly labelled as educational, scientific, documentary or artistic;
  • presented responsibly, not to shock or excite;
  • free of personal attacks, harassment or false claims.

Discussions of politics, social issues or education policy are welcome when they are respectful and based on facts.

Look after each other

  • No trolling, mocking or posts meant to upset or humiliate someone.
  • Avoid content that hurts others' confidence or body image, especially younger users.
  • Support other learners and celebrate their progress.

What happens when the rules are broken

SituationUsual result
First timeA warning, and the content may be removed.
It happens againA suspension for a time, or limits on posting, commenting or other features.
Serious or harmful (for example child exploitation, terrorism, fraud, explicit pornography)A permanent ban, and a report to the authorities when the law requires it.

Sikhami's team uses both people and automatic tools to find problems, and reviews the reports users send. To learn what you see when action is taken, read Account suspension and moderation.

If you see something that breaks these rules, report it. If you think a decision about your account is wrong, write to help@sikhami.com.

Questions

Where can I read the full guidelines?

On the Community Guidelines page. It is also linked in Settings under About, and as Guidelines at the bottom of the Settings and activity menu.

Can I post about a sensitive topic for study?

Yes, if it clearly helps learning, is labelled as educational, and is presented responsibly without shocking or harmful intent.

Can I promote my coaching or course?

Do not spam links or disguise ads as study material. Use Sikhami's own tools instead: publish your course, or promote it with Ads.

Do the rules apply to private messages?

Yes. They apply to messages, comments, reviews and everything else you share, not only public posts.

What should I do if I see a rule being broken?

Use Report on the post, clip, comment or profile. See Report a post, clip, comment or account.
