Email notifications
Which notifications Sikhami also sends by email, the daily activity summary at 7 pm, how to choose your emails in settings, and how to unsubscribe.
Updated 22 October 2026
If you miss something on Sikhami, we can tell you by email. Email notifications are copies of the notifications on your Notifications page.
They are on by default for every account with a verified email address. You can choose which kinds you get, or turn them all off.
Who gets these emails
- Emails go only to a verified email address: you signed in with Google, or you verified your email on Sikhami. See Verify your email and phone.
- Guest accounts do not get email notifications.
- Your settings page shows the address, for example "Sent to you@example.com when you miss something in the app." If your account has no email, it says "Add an email address to your account to get these."
The emails come from Sikhami (sikhami@sikhami.com). If you cannot find them, look in your spam or promotions folder and mark them as not spam.
Only what you missed
An email is sent only if you still have not seen the notification on Sikhami. If you open the notification, or read the chat, before the email goes out, no email is sent.
Soon after it happens
Messages, new followers, comments, sales, meetups and invites are emailed about 10 to 20 minutes after they happen. You get at most one such email every 30 minutes. Anything more waits and comes together in the next email. One email lists up to 15 notifications.
Daily activity summary at 7 pm
Likes, upvotes, joins and downloads do not come one by one. They come together in one email each evening at 7 pm India time, with the subject "Your Sikhami activity today".
The kinds of email
| Switch | What the settings page says | When it is sent |
|---|---|---|
| Messages | A new message you have not read yet | Soon after |
| Followers | New followers and follow requests | Soon after |
| Comments | Comments, reviews, questions and answers | Soon after |
| Sales | Someone bought your course, notes or membership, or sent a Super Chat | Soon after |
| Meetups and invites | Meetups starting or changing, quiz challenges and course requests | Soon after |
| Daily activity summary | Likes, upvotes, joins and downloads, in one email at 7 pm | Once a day |
Comments also covers doubts on your courses and replies to your doubts. Sales also covers other sales, new leads from your ads, and payouts. Other notices, such as course announcements, updates about your ads, refunds you receive and messages from Sikhami, come under Meetups and invites.
Messages here are one-to-one messages. Club and meetup chats do not send emails.
Choose which emails you get
- Open More (on a phone: your profile, then ⋯) and choose Settings & privacy.
- Choose Notifications, or go straight to Notification settings.
- Scroll down to Email.
- Email notifications turns all emails on or off.
- The switches under it turn one kind on or off. They are greyed out while Email notifications is off.
Changes are saved at once. Every email also has a link at the bottom, Choose which emails you get, that opens this page.
Unsubscribe from an email
- At the bottom of any notification email, click Unsubscribe.
- A page opens: Unsubscribe from Sikhami emails? It explains that this stops all notification emails.
- Click Unsubscribe.
- The page says You are unsubscribed. If you change your mind, click Undo. The page then says Emails are back on.
Nothing changes until you click the button on that page. The unsubscribe button of your email app (for example in Gmail) also works. It turns off all notification emails.
Unsubscribing stops notification emails only. You still see every notification on Sikhami. To turn emails back on later, switch on Email notifications in settings.
If the page says "This link is incomplete" or "This unsubscribe link is not valid", change your emails in Notification settings instead.
What an email looks like
- The subject is the notification itself when there is one, for example "New Comment: ...". When there are several, it says how many, for example "3 new notifications on Sikhami".
- Each notification in the email has an Open link.
- A See all notifications button opens your Notifications page.
On a computer, the links open sikhami.com. On a phone, they open the Sikhami app if it is installed. If not, a page lets you get the app or continue on the web.
