Vote, comment, save and share clips
How upvotes and downvotes work on clips, how to comment and reply, how to save a clip and how to share it in a chat, to your story or outside Sikhami.
Updated 22 October 2026
On Sikhami you do not "like" a clip. You vote on it: an upvote if it helped you, a downvote if it did not. You can also comment, save the clip and share it.
All these buttons are on the right side of the clip. If you are new to clips, first read Watch clips.
Upvote or downvote a clip
- Tap the up arrow to upvote. Tap the down arrow to downvote. The arrow you chose is filled in.
- The number between the arrows is the clip's score: upvotes minus downvotes. It can go below zero.
- Tap the same arrow again to take your vote back.
- Tap the other arrow to change your vote.
- Double-tap the video to upvote it. A double tap never removes an upvote. If you had downvoted, a double tap changes it to an upvote.
When you upvote someone's clip, they get a notification that you upvoted it. Downvotes do not send a notification.
Votes add to a clip's popularity. The Clips tab shows popular clips first.
The website does not show a list of who voted on a clip.
Write a comment
Tap the speech bubble on the clip to open the comments. The box at the bottom says Add a comment….
- Type your comment. You can write up to 1,000 characters.
- Press Enter or tap the send button. To start a new line, press Shift and Enter together.
Next to the box there are more ways to comment:
| Button | What it adds |
|---|---|
| Paperclip (Attach) | A Photo from your gallery, a Camera photo, a Document (PDF, notes, any file), a Location on the map or a Contact (name and number). |
| GIF | A GIF picked from a search window. |
| Microphone | A voice comment. Recording stops on its own after 2 minutes. You can discard it or send it. |
| Rupee chat bubble | A Super Chat: a paid comment that stands out. It is not shown on your own clips. |
Your own comments show first, then everyone else's, with the most popular ones higher up. When the creator gets a new comment on their clip, they get a notification.
Reply to and like comments
- Tap Reply under a comment. A bar says Replying to and the person's name. Write your reply and send it. Tap the cross on the bar to cancel.
- Replies sit under the comment they answer. Tap View 2 replies (or however many there are) to see them, and Hide replies to fold them away.
- You can reply to a comment, but not to a reply.
- Tap the small heart at the right of a comment to like it. Tap again to remove your like.
Delete or report a comment
- You can delete your own comments. Tap the bin icon under your comment, then Delete.
- If you made the clip, you can delete any comment on it.
- To report someone else's comment, tap the flag under it. See Report content.
You cannot edit a comment after you post it. Delete it and write a new one. There is no setting to turn off comments on a clip.
If your account is suspended, you can read comments but you cannot write them.
Super Chat on clips
A Super Chat is a paid comment that is pinned at the top of the comments for a while. To send one on someone's clip, tap the rupee chat bubble next to the comment box. To learn about prices and rules, see Super Chat.
Save a clip
Tap the bookmark on the right side of the clip. You see Saved, and the bookmark is filled in. Tap it again to remove the save. The number under the bookmark shows how many times the clip has been saved.
On the website, the Saved page lists saved posts only. It does not list saved clips.
Share a clip
Tap the paper plane on the right side of the clip. The Share sheet opens.
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Recent chats | Tap one or more people you chat with, then tap Send to 1 person (or the number of people). The clip arrives in each chat as a card they can open. See Share posts in chat. |
| Your story | Adds the clip to your story. The story has a Watch clip button that opens the clip. Members-only clips cannot be added to a story. |
| Opens WhatsApp with a link to the clip. | |
| Copy link | Copies the link. You see Link copied. |
| More | Opens your device's own share menu. If your browser has no share menu, the link is copied instead. |
The number under the paper plane shows how many times the clip has been shared.
Members-only clips
If a clip is members-only and you are not a member, you cannot vote on it, comment on it, save it or share it. You first need to join the creator's membership. See Memberships.
