Refunds

How refunds work for purchases on Sikhami: how to ask for one, how the money comes back, what happens to your access, and where to find the credit note.

Updated 22 October 2026

A refund gives back money you paid on Sikhami. Every refund is made by Sikhami's team. There is no refund button on the website or in the app, and a seller cannot refund you on Sikhami themselves. You ask by email.

The rules are in Sikhami's Refund Policy and in the payments part of the Terms of Service. This article explains how to ask and what happens when a refund is made.

What the policy says

  • Payments for paid services are generally not refundable, because they are for services already given.
  • In exceptional cases, Sikhami may consider a refund request. The decision is Sikhami's.
  • Sikhami reviews each request it receives at help@sikhami.com and replies within 7 business days.
  • A refund that is given goes back through the payment method you used to pay.

A study room says so at checkout: you pay for entry while the room is running, and there is no refund if it ends early.

How to ask for a refund

  1. Open My orders, choose the Payments tab and open the Invoice of the payment. Note the invoice number.
  2. Write to help@sikhami.com. Give your Sikhami username, the invoice number, what you bought, and why you are asking for a refund.
  3. Sikhami's team reviews your request and replies. If a refund is approved, it is made from Sikhami's side; you do not need to do anything else.

How a refund is made

  • A refund can be for the whole amount or for part of it.
  • A payment made on the website is refunded through Razorpay, to the payment method you used.
  • A purchase made in the Android app is refunded through Google Play.
  • When the refund is processed, you get a Refund processed notification. The money can take a few working days to reach your account.
  • Depending on the case, your access to the item can end when the refund is made. For example, a course's lectures lock, or your place in a club ends.

If Google Play refunds or reverses an app purchase on its own side, Sikhami records it as a refund too, and your access to that item ends.

Track your refund

  • In My orders, on the Payments tab, the payment gets a Refunded or Partly refunded tag with the amount.
  • The invoice shows the amount refunded, the date, and the Net amount you paid in the end.
  • Once the refund is processed, a Credit note link appears next to the invoice.

If you are the seller

  • You get an A sale was refunded notification with the amount.
  • Your share of the refunded part is taken off your balance. Sikhami's fee on that part is reversed too, so you only lose what you would have received.
  • The sale gets a Refunded or Partly refunded tag in the Sales tab of your Earnings page, and Refund lines appear in Where your money came from.
  • TDS or TCS taken on the refunded part can be given back. It shows as Tax reversed.
  • If the money from that sale was already paid out, your balance can go below zero. It is made up from your next sales before anything else is paid to you. This is why each sale waits 7 days before it can be paid out.

See Earnings and payouts for more about your balance.

Questions

Can the seller refund me directly?

Not on Sikhami. Only Sikhami's team can make a refund. Write to help@sikhami.com.

How long does a refund take to reach me?

After the refund is processed, the money can take a few working days to reach your account. Sikhami's policy is to reply to a request within 7 business days.

Will I lose access to what I bought?

It depends on the case. When a refund is made, your access to the item can end. If Google Play reverses an app purchase, access always ends.

Can I cancel a club or course period so it does not renew?

There is nothing to cancel. Periods never renew by themselves, and you are never charged again automatically.

Where is my credit note?

In My orders, on the Payments tab, next to the refunded payment. It appears once the refund is processed.

I cancelled a classroom course application. Do I get money back?

Classroom course fees are paid to the institute directly, not on Sikhami. Ask the institute about their fee.
