Quizzes and quiz battles

How to play quizzes on Sikhami: a solo practice round, an online match against a random learner, or a challenge to a friend. Covers the settings, how scores work, your history and who can challenge you.

Updated 22 October 2026

Quizzes are quick rounds of multiple-choice questions with a timer. You can play alone to practise, play online against another learner, or challenge someone you know.

Questions come from a shared question bank. When you set up a game you can pick from four subjects: Math, GK, English and Reasoning.

Open Quizzes

  • On a computer, open More in the left menu and choose Quizzes.
  • On a phone, tap Explore at the bottom, then Quizzes.
  • Or go straight to Quizzes.

The Quizzes page shows three ways to play, a link to change the game settings, History, your numbers (Played, Correct, Accuracy and Best), a Rematch row, your Recent rounds, and the Who can challenge you setting.

Ways to play

ModeHow it works
Solo roundYou play alone. Nobody to wait for. 10 questions, 20 seconds each, mixed difficulty. Tap Start.
Play onlineSikhami matches you with a random learner who is also looking for a game. You both answer the same questions.
Challenge a friendYou pick a person and send them a challenge. They have two minutes to accept.

Change the questions, timer or subjects

Tap Change questions, timer or subjects. The Custom game page opens.

  • Number of questions: 5 to 25, in steps of 5.
  • Seconds per question: 10 to 60, in steps of 5.
  • Difficulty: Mixed, Easy, Medium or Hard.
  • Subjects (optional): Math, GK, English, Reasoning. Leave all unselected for a mix of everything.

Then choose how to play at the bottom: Play Self, Play Randomly or Challenge Friend. The quick buttons on the Quizzes page always use the standard settings: 10 questions, 20 seconds each, mixed difficulty.

Answer the questions

  • Each question shows its subject, topic and difficulty, the question and four options, A to D.
  • A timer at the top counts down the seconds. It turns red in the last 5 seconds.
  • Tap an option. The right answer turns green. If you picked a wrong one, it turns red.
  • Tap Skip to move on without answering.
  • If time runs out, the question counts as skipped and the next one comes up.

How scoring works

Accuracy is the share of your answered questions that were right. Skipped questions do not count towards accuracy.

Play online

  1. Tap Play online (or Play Randomly on the Custom game page).
  2. You see Looking for an opponent…. If nobody joins within about 45 seconds, the page says so and keeps looking. Tap Cancel to stop.
  3. When someone is found, the match starts. A score bar shows your score and your opponent's score as you both play.
  4. If you finish first, you see Waiting for your opponent to finish, with the question they are on. Your score is saved.
  5. At the end you see You won!, It's a draw! or Better luck next time, with both scores.

The round uses the settings of the player who joins the match second. If you were already waiting when your opponent arrived, their settings are used.

If you finish and your opponent still has not answered a single question 3 minutes later, the page says it looks like they left. Tap End match to finish and keep your score, or Leave.

Challenge a friend

  1. Tap Challenge a friend (or Challenge Friend on the Custom game page).
  2. A list shows your quiz mates and people you follow. To find someone else, type at least 2 letters of their name or username.
  3. Tap Challenge next to the person.
  4. You see Waiting for them, with the time left. The challenge lasts two minutes.
  5. If they accept, the match starts for both of you. If they decline, or do not answer in two minutes, you see that too. Tap Cancel challenge to take it back.

When someone challenges you

Wherever you are on Sikhami, a Quiz challenge box pops up with the person's name, the number of questions, the seconds per question, the difficulty and the time left. You also get a notification. Tap Accept to start, or Decline.

Who can challenge you

At the bottom of the Quizzes page, Who can challenge you lets you choose: Anyone, My followers, People I follow or No one. Your choice is saved at once. People you do not allow see a message saying they cannot challenge you.

Results, rematches and history

  • After each round you see your score with Correct, Wrong, Skipped and Accuracy, then a Review of every question: your answer and, if you were wrong, the correct one.
  • Tap Play again for a new round, or History to see your past rounds.
  • Rematch on the Quizzes page shows people you have played against, with your wins and losses against each (for example 3W · 2L). Tap a face to challenge them again.
  • Recent rounds shows your last five rounds. History shows them all, with the number of questions, the difficulty, how many you got right, your accuracy and the score.
  • Your numbers at the top add up every round: Played (rounds), Correct (right answers), Accuracy and Best (your highest score in one round).

Questions

Do quizzes cost anything?

No. All quiz modes are free.

Is there negative marking?

No. A wrong answer gives 0 points, the same as a skipped question.

Nobody joins when I tap Play online. Why?

A match needs another learner looking for a game at the same time. Wait a little longer, try later, or play a Solo round, which needs nobody else.

Can I stop people from sending me challenges?

Yes. Set Who can challenge you to No one at the bottom of the Quizzes page. You can also allow only your followers or only people you follow.

What happens if I leave in the middle of a match?

The match does not end by itself. Your opponent can leave at any time. If you had not answered a single question, they can also end the match after 3 minutes and keep their score.

Can I choose the subject?

Yes, on the Custom game page under Subjects (optional). Pick one or more of Math, GK, English and Reasoning.
