Watch clips
How to watch clips on Sikhami: moving from clip to clip, turning the sound on, opening comments, following the creator, the ⋯ menu and members-only clips.
Updated 22 October 2026
A clip is a short vertical video, like a reel. People on Sikhami post clips to teach a small idea, show a skill or share a tip. You watch them one at a time, full screen on a phone and as a tall card on a computer.
This article explains where to find clips, how to move between them, how sound works, what each button on a clip does, and what a members-only clip is.
Where to find clips
You need to be signed in to watch clips. You can open them from many places:
- Clips in the menu on the left (on a computer) or the Clips tab at the bottom (on a phone). This opens the main clips feed.
- Your Home feed. Clips appear between posts, and sometimes as a row of clips headed Clips. Tap one to open the player.
- A person's profile. Open the Clips tab on their profile and tap a clip.
- The Trending posts grid on Explore. A tile with the clips mark in the corner is a clip.
- The Clips tab of Search.
- A link someone shared with you.
When you open a clip from a profile or a link, you see that clip first. If you scroll on, you see more clips by the same creator.
Move from one clip to the next
Only one clip plays at a time. It plays again from the start when it ends.
- On a phone, swipe up for the next clip and down for the one before.
- On a computer, scroll with your mouse or touchpad, or use the two round buttons at the right edge of the window: Previous clip (arrow up) and Next clip (arrow down).
- Tap the video once to pause it. Tap again to play.
- Double-tap the video to upvote it. See Vote and comment on clips.
The Clips tab shows popular clips from public accounts. Sikhami moves you on through its list of clips, so you do not get the same clips again straight away. When the list runs out, you see No clips right now. Check back a little later.
In the Clips tab, a sponsored clip appears after every 5 clips. It is marked Sponsored. See Sponsored content. A creator's clips opened from their profile do not have sponsored clips between them.
Turn the sound on or off
Clips in the Clips tab start with the sound off. To hear a clip, tap the speaker button in the top-right corner of the video. Your choice stays the same for the next clips while you stay on the page.
A clip opened from a profile or a link starts with the sound on. Tap the same speaker button to mute it.
What you see on a clip
| Part of the clip | What it does |
|---|---|
| Creator's photo and username (bottom left) | Opens the creator's profile. A blue tick means the account is verified. If the photo has a ring, the creator has a story; tap the photo to watch it. |
| Follow | Follows the creator. If their account is private, it changes to Requested until they accept. The button goes away once you follow them. |
| Description | The creator's words, shown in two lines. Below it you may see small labels for the language, the exams or subjects, and the length of the clip. |
| Music line | If the clip has a soundtrack name, it shows with a music note. |
| Up arrow, number, down arrow | Upvote and downvote. The number is upvotes minus downvotes. |
| Speech bubble | Opens the comments. The number is how many comments there are. |
| Bookmark | Saves the clip. The number is how many times it has been saved. |
| Paper plane | Opens the Share sheet. The number is how many times it has been shared. |
| ⋯ | Opens the clip menu (see below). |
| Flag | Reports the clip. You see it only on other people's clips. |
Open the comments
Tap the speech bubble on the right side of the clip.
- On a wide computer screen, the comments open in a panel next to the clip, titled Comments. The panel stays open as you move to the next clip and shows that clip's comments. Close it with the cross at its top left.
- On a phone or a smaller window, the comments open in a full-screen window titled Comments with the number of comments. Close it to go back to the clip.
To learn how to write comments, reply, add a GIF or a voice note, see Vote and comment on clips.
The ⋯ menu
Tap ⋯ on the right side of the clip.
| Option | Who sees it | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Copy link | Everyone | Copies a link to the clip. You see Link copied. |
| View insights | The creator | Shows how the clip is doing. See Post insights and views. |
| Edit details | The creator | Change the category, the description, the language and the topics. You cannot change the video or the filter. |
| Archive or Unarchive | The creator | Archive takes the clip off your profile and out of feeds. Only you can see it, under Archive in the settings menu. Unarchive puts it back. |
| Delete clip | The creator | Asks Delete this clip? and then removes the clip from Sikhami for everyone. |
To report someone else's clip, tap the flag below ⋯. See Report content.
Members-only clips
Some creators sell a paid membership. They can keep some clips only for their members. These clips are called members-only clips.
- Members-only clips are only in the creator's Members only tab on their profile. They never appear in the Clips tab, on Explore or in search.
- If you are not a member, the clip tile shows a lock. Tapping it takes you to the page where you can join the membership.
- If you open a link to a members-only clip and you are not a member, you see a Members only card with a Join membership button. You do not see the video, the picture or the words.
- Members and the creator watch the clip like any other clip. It has a small Members badge next to the creator's name.
- You cannot vote, comment, save or share a members-only clip that you are not allowed to watch.
- A members-only clip cannot be shared to a story.

Questions
Why does the clip play without sound?
Clips in the Clips tab start muted. Tap the speaker button in the top-right corner of the video to turn the sound on.
Where can I find the clips I saved?
Saving a clip adds a bookmark to it. On the website, the Saved page lists saved posts only. It does not list saved clips.
Why don't I see a friend's clips in the Clips tab?
The Clips tab shows clips from public accounts only. If your friend's account is private, open their profile and look in their Clips tab instead.
Can I download a clip?
No. The website has no download button for clips. You can copy a link to the clip from the ⋯ menu or share it with the paper plane button.
What does the number on a clip tile mean?
On a profile, the number next to the play mark on a clip tile shows how many people have watched it. A tile that says Processing is still being prepared after upload.
Why does a clip say "This clip is not available"?
The creator deleted the clip, or the link is wrong.
