Find your way around Sikhami
A tour of the website: the left menu and More on computers, the bottom tabs and Home top bar on phones, the Create menu, page headers, dark mode, and where to get help.
Updated 22 October 2026
Sikhami looks a little different on a computer and on a phone. On a computer, a menu runs down the left edge of the screen. On a phone, tabs run along the bottom.
This article shows where everything is on both, so you can always find your way.
On a computer: the left menu
On wide screens, the menu shows icons with their names. On medium screens, it shows icons only. Point at an icon to see its name. The page you are on has a grey highlight and a filled icon.
| Menu item | What it opens |
|---|---|
| Sikhami logo | Home. |
| Home | Your feed, with stories at the top and the For you and Following tabs. See Home feed. |
| Search | Search for people, posts, clips, courses and more. See Search. |
| Explore | Trending posts and clips, people to know, and tiles for every section. See Explore. |
| Clips | Short vertical videos. See Watch clips. |
| Courses | Video courses and classroom courses. See Find courses. |
| Clubs | Groups of learners. See Clubs. |
| Messages | Your chats. A number shows how many are unread. See Messages. |
| Notifications | The heart icon. A number shows how many are new. See Notifications. |
| Profile | Your own profile, shown with your photo. See Your profile page. |
| Create | The grey + button. Opens the Create menu. |
| More | At the bottom. Opens everything else. |
The More menu
More at the bottom of the left menu opens a long list:
- Your name and photo with See your profile.
- Explore: Explore, Categories, Courses, Clubs, Meetups, Notes, Quizzes, Study rooms, Live, Teachers, Institutes, People and Polls.
- Your studios: Learning studio, Creator studio, My learning, Saved, Insights and Ads.
- The settings rows: Settings & privacy, Learning studio, Creator studio, Insights, Ads, My learning, Saved, Archive, Location, Appearance, Help & support, Report a problem and Log out.
- At the very bottom: links to Privacy, Terms, Guidelines and About.
If you are using a guest account, Keep your account shows at the top of the settings rows. See Guest accounts. Settings & privacy opens the Settings page. See Settings and privacy.
On a phone: the bottom tabs and the Home top bar
On a phone, five tabs run along the bottom of the screen:
- Home: your feed.
- Explore: the magnifier. It has a search box at the top, then tiles for Clubs, Meetups, Notes, Quizzes, People, Polls, Trending, Courses, Institutes, Teachers, Study rooms and Live.
- Clips: short videos. On this screen the tab bar turns black.
- Create: the + button. Opens the Create menu from the bottom of the screen.
- Profile: your own profile, shown with your photo.
Home also has a bar at the top: your location pin on the left, the Sikhami logo in the middle, and Notifications (the heart) and Messages on the right. On a phone, Messages and Notifications are only in this bar, so go to Home to reach them.
Phones have no More button. The same settings rows are on your profile: open the Profile tab and choose ⋯ at the end of the line with your follower count. This opens Settings and activity.
The Create menu
Create opens the same list on computers and phones:
| Choice | What it makes |
|---|---|
| Post | A post with photos, a video, text, a poll or a voice recording. Opens in a pop-up. See Create a post. |
| Story | A photo or video that shows for 24 hours. See Stories. |
| Clip | A short vertical video. See Upload a clip. |
| Live | A live video stream. See Go live. |
| Club | A group for learners. See Create a club. |
| Meetup | An online or in-person event. See Create a meetup. |
| Notes | Study notes as a PDF. See Share notes. |
| Study room | A live audio room. See Host a study room. |
| Course | A video or classroom course. See Create a video course. |
| Institute | A page for your institute. See Create an institute. |
If your account is suspended, the Create menu shows the reason instead of this list. See Account suspension and moderation.
Page headers and notices
- Most pages have a header at the top with the page title. Many have a back arrow on the left. It takes you to the page you came from, or to a main page if you opened the link directly.
- Buttons for the page sit on the right of the header, for example Save on Edit profile.
- Sometimes a notice shows at the top of every page, for example when work on the site is planned, or when your account is suspended. These notices cannot be closed. They go away on their own when the work is done or the account is restored.
Dark mode
- Open More on a computer, or the Profile tab and ⋯ on a phone.
- Choose Appearance.
- Choose Light, Dark, or Use device setting to follow your phone or computer.
Your choice is saved in this browser only. On another device or browser, choose it again.
Getting help
- Help & support in the menu opens this Help Centre.
- Report a problem opens an email to help@sikhami.com, so you can describe what went wrong.
- Some screens have a Learn more link that opens the help article for that screen.
