Study notes

How to find, open and download study notes, books and question banks shared on Sikhami, how paid notes work, and why a paid PDF opens only for people who bought it.

Updated 22 October 2026

Notes on Sikhami are PDF files that members share: study notes, books and question banks. Many are free. Some are paid, and you buy them once.

This article is for readers. To share your own notes, see Share notes.

Find notes

  • On a computer, open More in the left menu and choose Notes.
  • On a phone, tap Explore at the bottom, then Notes.
  • You can also search: open Search, type a word and choose the Notes tab.

The Notes page has tabs along the top: All, Books, Questions, Notes, and My notes (the notes you uploaded). The New notes button is for sharing your own.

Each note shows its cover, the number of pages, the title, the type and level, its star rating, how many times it was downloaded, and its price. A free note shows ₹0.

Open and download a note

  1. Tap a note to open its page. You see the cover, the title, the type and language, the number of pages, the file size, the downloads, the description and who shared it.
  2. For a free note, tap Open PDF.
  3. The PDF opens in a new browser tab. From there your browser lets you read it, save it or print it.

If the page says The file is still being processed. Try again later., the uploader has just added it. Sikhami is preparing the file. Come back a little later.

Buy a paid note

  1. Open the note's page. The price is under the title.
  2. Tap Buy for ₹…. Next to it you read: Pay once, download any time.
  3. The Checkout page shows the note, its number of pages, the seller and the Total.
  4. Tap Pay ₹… and pay in the Razorpay window, by UPI, card or net banking.
  5. When the payment is done, you see You are in, and Sikhami takes you back to the note.
  6. Tap Open PDF.
  • You pay once, and the note stays yours. There is no time limit.
  • You can open and download the PDF as many times as you like.
  • The payment is collected by Sikhami on behalf of the seller. See How to pay.
  • The order is under My orders and payments in Settings & privacy, on the Study materials tab, and the invoice is on the Payments tab.

Why paid notes are protected

When an uploader puts a price on a note, Sikhami moves its PDF to protected storage. After that, the file opens only for people who bought the note and for the uploader. The public page of a note never shows the file itself.

If the uploader later makes the note free again, the file is moved back and every reader can open it again.

A PDF you download is a normal file on your device. Please do not share paid notes you bought with others. The person who made them earns from each sale.

Reviews, questions and other actions

  • Reviews: tap Write a review, pick 1 to 5 stars and add a few lines if you like. You can edit or delete your review later.
  • Questions & answers: ask about the notes in Ask a question…. Anyone can answer.
  • The buttons under the details let you save the note, share it, or report it. See Report content.

Every note also has a public page that people can read without an account. It shows the title, the description, the exams and subjects, the price and who shared it, but not the file. To read the note, they sign in.

Questions

Do I need an account to read notes?

Yes. The public page of a note shows its details, but opening the PDF needs a Sikhami account, even for free notes.

I bought a note. Will I lose it later?

No. You pay once and can open the PDF any time, as long as the note is still on Sikhami.

Open PDF does nothing. What do I do?

The PDF opens in a new tab. Check that your browser did not block the new tab, then try again. If you see an error message, read it: for a paid note it means Sikhami could not confirm your purchase yet. Reload the page and try again.

Why does a note show ₹0?

₹0 means the note is free.

Can I ask the person who shared the notes a question?

Yes. Use Questions & answers on the note's page. Other readers can answer too.

Can I get a refund for notes?

See Refunds.
