Your profile page

What a Sikhami profile shows, the buttons and menus on your own profile and on other people's, the profile tabs, and what you see when an account is private or blocked.

Updated 23 October 2026

Your profile is your page on Sikhami. It shows who you are, what you are learning, and what you have posted and made.

Every profile has the same parts: the details at the top, a row of buttons, your story highlights, and tabs with your posts, clips and more.

Open a profile

  • Your own profile: choose Profile in the left menu on a computer, or the Profile tab (your photo) on a phone.
  • Someone else's profile: choose their name or photo anywhere on Sikhami, for example on a post, a comment or in search.

When a photo has a coloured ring, that person has a story. Choosing the photo opens the story instead of the profile. The ring is blue when you have not seen the story yet, and grey once you have. See Stories.

The top of a profile

  • Name, in large letters, with a blue tick if the account is verified. See The verified badge.
  • @username under the name, and the profile photo on the right.
  • Bio, if the person wrote one.
  • Intro list, one line each: college, school, location with state, links, and the month and year they joined.
  • Tags: class or stage, the exams they are preparing for, languages, strong subjects, what they are open to (only while they are open to connect), and their interests. Each interest tag is a link that searches Sikhami for that word. On a computer, point at a tag to see what kind it is, for example Preparing for or Speaks.
  • Counts: posts, followers and following. Choose followers or following to see the list of people. See Followers and following.
  • ⋯ at the end of the counts line.

To change any of this on your own profile, see Edit your profile.

Buttons on your own profile

  • Edit profile: opens the page where you change your details.
  • Share profile: opens Share. Pick people from Recent chats and choose the Send to button, or share to WhatsApp, Copy link, or More for your device's own share options. The link points to your account, so it keeps working even if you change your username.
  • Requests: shows only when your account is private. It opens the people who asked to follow you. See Private account and follow requests.
  • ⋯: opens Settings and activity, the menu with Settings & privacy, your studios, Saved, Archive, Location, Appearance, Help & support and Log out.
  • Add your interests: a dashed tag that shows when you have no interest tags yet. It opens Edit profile.

Buttons on someone else's profile

  • Follow: follow them. If their account is private, the button sends a follow request and changes to Requested. When you already follow them, it says Following; choose it to unfollow.
  • Join, with a price: shows only if the person sells a membership. It changes to Renew when your membership has run out, and to Member while it is active. See Memberships.
  • Message: opens a chat with them. See Messages.
  • ⋯: opens Report and Block (or Unblock if you blocked them). See Report content and Block someone.

Highlights and tabs

Story highlights sit between the top of the profile and the tabs. See Story highlights and archive. The tabs show the newest items first. On a phone, the tabs show as icons.

TabWhat it shows
PostsPhoto, video and text posts. Polls and voice posts have their own tabs.
ClipsShort videos. On your own profile there is an Upload clip button. Members-only clips are not here.
PollsPolls the person posted.
VoiceVoice posts the person recorded.
Members onlyShows only for people who sell a membership. People who are not members see the clips locked, with a Join button. On your own profile it says "Nothing here yet. Upload a clip and set it to Members only." until you add one.
CreationsWhat the person made: clubs, notes, meetups, courses, institutes and teacher profiles. It says "Nothing created yet" if there is nothing.

Posts you archived, and posts you made inside a club, do not show on your profile. See Archive and delete posts.

Private, blocked and missing profiles

SituationWhat you see
A private account you do not followThe top of the profile, then "This account is private. Follow to see their posts." No highlights or tabs.
A private account you followThe whole profile, the same as a public account: highlights and tabs.
You blocked the account"You blocked this account. Unblock them from the menu to see their posts again." No Follow or Message buttons.
The account blocked you"This account is not available. You cannot interact with this account."
The username does not exist or was changed"This account is not available" with "does not exist or was removed".

A private account hides its highlights and tabs from everyone except its approved followers. Its name, photo, bio, intro list, tags and counts can still be seen by anyone logged in to Sikhami.

Your profile outside Sikhami

If your account is public, Sikhami also makes a public profile page at sikhami.com/profile/ followed by your username. Anyone can open it without logging in, and search engines can show it. It has a Follow on Sikhami button that leads to your normal profile. It shows your name, photo, bio, some tags, links, counts and the notes, clubs and meetups you made, but not your posts, school or location.

There is no public page for private accounts, guest accounts, suspended accounts, or accounts whose class or stage is a school class. See Edit your profile for the full list of what it shows.
