Invoices and receipts
Find, print or save as PDF the invoice for anything you paid for on Sikhami, and the credit note for a refund.
Updated 22 October 2026
Every payment that goes through on Sikhami gets an invoice, whether you paid on the website or in the Android app. The invoice is your receipt: it shows what you bought, from whom, when and for how much.
If a payment is refunded, you also get a credit note. A credit note is the document that reduces the invoice by the amount given back.
Where to find your invoices
- Open My orders and choose the Payments tab. Every payment has an Invoice link.
- For a course or notes you bought, you can also open the order and press View invoice.
- For a refunded payment, the Payments tab also has a Credit note link once the refund is processed.
To reach My orders: open Settings & privacy (from More on a computer, or the ⋯ on your profile on a phone) and choose My orders and payments in the Money group.
What an invoice shows
- Invoice and its number, with the date you paid. Numbers look like SKM/26-27/000123, where 26-27 is the financial year (April to March). Invoices from before this numbering started have numbers like INV-2026-000123.
- The seller. For a course, this is the institute, with its address, email and phone number, and its GSTIN if the institute has added one. For anything else, it is the person who made it, with the web address of their Sikhami profile.
- Billed to: your name, email and phone number, as they were on your account when you paid.
- Payment: Razorpay and the method you used, or Google Play for a purchase in the Android app, with the payment reference and the order number if there is one.
- The item: its name and what it gives you. For a video course, it also shows how long your access lasts and the end date.
- Total paid.
- A note that the amount was collected by Sikhami on behalf of the seller, and that it is inclusive of applicable taxes, if any, as declared by the seller.
The invoice is from the seller to you. Sikhami collects the money for the seller. The invoice does not list GST as a separate line.
Print or save as PDF
- Open the invoice or credit note.
- Press Print / save PDF at the top of the page.
- Your browser's print window opens. Choose a printer, or choose to save as PDF.
- Print or save. The menus and buttons of the website are left out of the printed page.
Sikhami does not have a separate download button. Saving as PDF from the print window gives you a file you can keep or send.
Refunds and credit notes
When a payment is refunded, its invoice changes:
- A Refunded or Partly refunded tag appears next to Invoice.
- Below Total paid, it shows the amount refunded and the date, and the Net amount left.
- A box lists each refund with its amount and whether it is done or still in progress, with a link to its credit note.
A Credit note shows its number, its date, the invoice it is against, the seller, Issued to (you), how the money is returned (To the original payment method (Razorpay) or Through Google Play), whether it is a Full refund or Partial refund, the original price, the reason, and Total credited.
| Status on the credit note | What it means |
|---|---|
| Refund requested | The refund is waiting for approval. |
| Refund approved | The refund has been approved. |
| Refund being processed | The money is being sent back. |
| Refunded | The refund is done. The credit note has its number. |
| Refund failed | The refund did not go through. The reason is shown. |
| Refund declined | The refund was not made. The reason is shown. |
A credit note gets its number once the money is on its way back to you. Until then it says Not issued yet, and Print / save PDF is greyed out. For more, see Refunds.
Who can see an invoice
- An invoice can be opened by the buyer and by the seller. Nobody else can open it.
- The seller sees one extra line with the fees and their share, marked as not shown to the buyer.
- A credit note can be opened only by the person who paid.
If you sell on Sikhami, the invoices for your sales are linked from the Sales tab of your Earnings page. Sikhami's monthly invoice to you for its fee is a different document, the commission invoice; see Taxes on your sales.
Questions
Can I change the name on my invoice?
No. An invoice keeps the name, email and phone number that were on your account when you paid. To have a different name on future invoices, change it in Edit your profile before you pay.
Do I get an invoice for a purchase in the Android app?
Yes. It is listed in My orders like any other payment, and its Payment part says Google Play.
Does the invoice show GST?
Not as a separate line. The amount is inclusive of applicable taxes, if any, as declared by the seller. For a course, the institute's GSTIN is printed if the institute has added one.
The Print button on my credit note is greyed out. Why?
The refund is not processed yet. The button works once the credit note has its number.
Is there an invoice for a failed payment?
No. Only payments that went through get an invoice.
Are ad payments listed too?
Yes. Payments for ads are in the Payments tab of My orders, each with its invoice.
