Share, repost and save posts
How to send a post to a chat, share it on WhatsApp or copy its link, repost it to your profile with your own words, and save it to read later.
Updated 22 October 2026
Under every post there is a row of buttons. Besides the heart (like) and the speech bubble (comment), there are three buttons for passing a post on or keeping it: the two arrows (repost), the paper plane (share) and the bookmark at the far right (save).
This article explains each of them, and how to save or share a single photo or video from a post.
Share a post
Click the paper plane under the post. The Share window opens.
Send it to people you chat with
- Under Recent chats you see up to 12 people you have chatted with recently.
- Tap one or more people. A tick marks each person you pick. Tap again to unpick.
- Click Send to 1 person (or Send to 3 people, and so on).
The post arrives in each chat as a card with its picture and words, which the other person can tap to open. If you have not chatted with anyone yet, this part is not shown. See Share posts in chat.
Share it outside Sikhami
Under Share to there are three buttons:
- WhatsApp opens WhatsApp with the post's link, ready to send.
- Copy link copies the post's link so you can paste it anywhere. You see "Link copied".
- More opens your phone's or computer's own share menu, with your other apps. If your browser has no share menu, the link is copied instead.
You can also copy a post's link from its ⋯ menu: choose Copy link.
Who can open a shared link
- On a phone with the Sikhami Android app, the link opens the post in the app. See The Android app.
- Otherwise it opens the post on the website. Anyone who is not logged in is asked to log in first, and then the post opens.
- If the post has been deleted, the page says "This post is not available".
Save or share one photo or video
- Click a photo in a post to open it full screen. In a post with several photos and videos, use the arrows (or the left and right arrow keys) to move between them.
- Click the download button (Save picture or Save video) to save the file to your device.
- Click Share to send the file with your device's share menu. If your browser cannot share files, the file is saved instead, and you see a message that says so.
- Click the cross, press Escape, or click the dark background to close.
Only save and share other people's photos and videos in ways they would be happy with. See Community guidelines.
Repost a post
A repost shares someone's post again on your own profile, with your own words above it if you want.
- Click the two arrows under the post. The Repost window opens and shows a short preview of the post.
- Type your thoughts in the box ("Add your thoughts (optional)"). You can write up to 500 characters, or leave it empty.
- Click Repost. You see "Reposted to your profile" and Sikhami opens your profile.
How a repost looks and where it appears
- A repost shows your words, a Repost label, and the original post in a box. Clicking the box opens the original post.
- Reposts appear on the Posts tab of your profile. They do not appear on Home.
- The number beside the two arrows on the original post shows how many times it has been reposted.
- You cannot repost a repost. The repost button is not shown on reposts. Open the original post and repost that instead.
- If the original post is deleted later, your repost shows "The original post is no longer available."
- To remove your repost, open its ⋯ menu and choose Delete post. See Archive and delete posts.
Save a post
- Click the bookmark at the far right of the buttons under a post. It fills in and you see "Saved".
- To remove it from your saved posts, click the bookmark again.
- Find all your saved posts on the Saved page. Open More (on a phone, the ⋯ on your own profile) and choose Saved. See Saved and liked posts.
- The person who made the post is not told that you saved it. In their post insights they see only how many people saved it, not who.
Questions
Can I share a post with someone I have never chatted with?
The Recent chats list only shows people you have chatted with. For anyone else, use Copy link, WhatsApp or More, or start a chat with them first. See Messages.

They see the number of shares in their post insights, but not who shared it.
Can I repost without adding words?
Yes. The words are optional. Leave the box empty and click Repost.
Why can't I find my repost on Home?
Reposts are not shown on Home. Your repost is on the Posts tab of your profile.
Can I save a clip to the Saved page?
The Saved page on the website lists posts only. Clips have their own save button in the clip player.
The link opened a login page. Is that right?
Yes. Posts open on the website only for members who are logged in. After logging in, the post opens.
