Report a post, clip, comment or account
How to report posts, clips, comments, accounts, clubs, meetups, notes, courses, teachers, institutes and ads that break Sikhami's rules, and what happens after you report.
Updated 22 October 2026
If something on Sikhami breaks the Community guidelines, you can report it. A report goes to Sikhami's team, who review it.
Sikhami does not send the person you report a notification about your report.
What you can report and where
| What | Where to find Report |
|---|---|
| A post | Select ⋯ at the top right of the post, then Report post. |
| A clip | Select the flag button in the column of buttons on the right of the clip. |
| A comment | Select the small flag button under the comment. |
| An account | On their profile, select ⋯ at the end of the line with their posts and followers, then Report. |
| A person you chat with | On a wide computer screen, open the chat, select Chat info, then Report in Details. |
| A club, meetup, note, course, teacher or institute | On its page, select the flag button at the end of the row of buttons. |
| An ad (marked Sponsored) | Select ⋯ on the ad, then Report ad. |
The report option does not show on posts, clips, comments, profiles and pages that you made yourself.
On the website you cannot report a story, a single message, a live stream, a study room or a quiz on its own. Report the account that made it instead, from their profile.
Send a report
- Select the report option for the item, as shown above.
- A window asks "Why are you reporting this?" Choose the reason that fits best.
- If you want, write more in Add details (optional), for example what is wrong and where. You can write up to 1,000 characters.
- Select Submit report. The button works only after you choose a reason.
- You see "Thanks. Your report has been submitted."
The reasons you can choose
- Sexual content
- Violent or repulsive content
- Hateful or abusive content
- Harassment or bullying
- Harmful or dangerous acts
- Misinformation
- Child abuse

- Spam or misleading

Report an ad
- On the sponsored post, select ⋯.

- The window says "Why are you reporting this ad? The advertiser won't know it was you." Choose a reason: Misleading or a scam, Promises exam results or ranks, Sexual or inappropriate, Violent or hateful, Offensive to me or Something else.
- Select Report. You see "Thanks. We'll review this ad."
The same menu has Why am I seeing this ad?, Hide ad and an option to hide all ads from that advertiser. See Sponsored content.
What happens after you report
- Your report goes to Sikhami's team with the reason and any details you wrote.
- Sikhami does not send the person a notification about your report.
- The team checks the report against the Community Guidelines. Depending on how serious it is, the result can be a warning, removal of the content, a suspension of the account or a permanent ban. See Account suspension and moderation.
- The website does not show you the result, and there is no list of the reports you have sent.
- You cannot take back a report once it is sent.
Other things you can do
- Hide a post: on someone else's post, ⋯ then Hide takes it out of the list you are looking at. It does not report it.
- Block the person: you stop seeing each other's profiles and posts. See Block someone.
- Copyright: if someone posted your work without permission, the Copyright Policy explains what to send to help@sikhami.com.
- Child safety: read the Child Safety Standards. Report the content with the reason Child abuse, and write to help@sikhami.com.
Tips for a useful report
- Choose the reason closest to the problem.
- Use Add details (optional) to say what is wrong, for example "This account copies my name and photo" or "This post asks people for their OTP".
- Report the exact item. If one comment is the problem, report the comment, not the whole post.
- If someone keeps contacting you, report the account and also block them.
