Classroom courses for learners

How face-to-face courses at institutes work for learners: finding classes near you, reading the class details, applying for a seat, paying the institute, and seeing your batch timetable, attendance and fees on Sikhami.

Updated 22 October 2026

A face-to-face course, also called a classroom course, is a course with classes at an institute's centre, on set days and times. Sikhami helps you find these classes and apply for a seat. You pay the institute directly, not on Sikhami.

Some institutes also run their batches on Sikhami. Then you can see your timetable, your attendance and your fees on the website.

Find classes near you

  1. Open Courses. On a computer, click Courses in the left menu. On a phone, tap Explore, then Courses.
  2. Tap the Face to face tab.
  3. Tap Set location and choose where you are. See Your location.
  4. The list now shows the nearest classes first, with the distance, for example 3.2 km away. Classes whose institute has no map point come last.
  5. Use Free or Paid to narrow the list.

Each card shows the city, and then the distance, the seats left or the start date. You can also find classes on an institute's own page. See Teachers and institutes.

Read the class details

Open a course. Under its name, a Face-to-face classes box lists what the institute filled in:

RowWhat it tells you
DatesWhen the batch starts and ends, and how many months it runs.
ClassesThe class days, for example Mon to Fri, and the class time.
SeatsHow many seats are left, for example 5 of 30 seats left, or Seats full.
VenueThe institute's name and address, with a Directions link when the institute has set its place on the map.
Study materialWhat material comes with the fee, or Not included.
Who can joinWho the course is for, if the institute wrote it.
Free demo classIf shown: you can attend one class free before you join.

The price card shows the fee. It may be for the whole course, or per month (shown as / month).

Apply for a seat

  1. On the course page, tap Apply now (or Apply for free when the course is free). The line under it says: No payment on Sikhami: you pay the institute once they confirm your seat.
  2. The Checkout page shows the course, the institute, and the fee, as Course fee or Fee per month.
  3. Check Your contact details: your name and phone number. The institute uses them to reach you, confirm your seat and collect the fee. Add your phone number to your profile first if it is missing. See Verify your email and phone.
  4. Tap Apply now.
  5. In the box Send your application?, tap Confirm.
  6. You see Application sent, and then your application's page opens.

When a batch is full, the course page shows Seats full and you cannot apply. Ask the institute about the next batch.

After you apply

Your application stays in My orders and payments (open Settings & privacy), on the Courses tab. Its page, Order summary, shows the status at the top.

StatusWhat it means
PendingThe institute has your application. They will call you to confirm the seat. You can still cancel.
ConfirmedYou are enrolled. Reach the institute for classes, timings and paying the fee.
Not acceptedThe institute could not accept it. You can contact them for details.
CancelledYou cancelled it. You can apply again from the course page.
  1. To cancel while it is pending, open the application and tap Cancel application.
  2. In the box Cancel this application?, tap Cancel application again, or Keep it to stop.

On the course page, the button shows your status too: Application pending · view or Successfully enrolled. When you are confirmed, you also appear in the course's Students list.

Paying the fee

Sikhami does not take payment for face-to-face courses. You pay the institute in the way they ask, after they confirm your seat. If the institute keeps its fee book on Sikhami, it can print a receipt for each payment or save it as a PDF for you.

Because the money does not go through Sikhami, questions about fees, refunds or receipts for these courses go to the institute.

Your batch, timetable and attendance

An institute that runs its batches on Sikhami can add you to a batch using your Sikhami username. This is separate from your application: being confirmed does not put you in a batch by itself. Give the institute your username if they ask for it. See Choose a username.

Once you are in a batch, My learning shows a My batches section with:

  • The batch name, the class days and times, and the place.
  • Attendance with your percentage, from the classes the institute marked in the last 90 class days. Late counts as present.
  • Your fees: Fees paid, an amount fee due, or an amount fee overdue.
  • Join live class, when the batch has an online class link.

Attendance and fees are kept by the institute. If something looks wrong, ask the institute to check its records.

Questions

Do I pay anything on Sikhami for a face-to-face course?

No. Applying is free on Sikhami. You pay the institute directly after they confirm your seat.

How long does the institute take to confirm?

It depends on the institute. Sikhami does not set a time. Your application shows Pending until they confirm or decline it.

Can I apply to the same course twice?

No. While you have a pending, confirmed or declined application for a course, the course page shows that application instead of a new Apply now button. After you cancel, you can apply again.

Why do I not see My batches?

The section appears only after an institute adds you to a batch with your Sikhami username. Not every institute runs its batches on Sikhami.

Can I watch face-to-face classes online?

Face-to-face courses have no lectures to watch on Sikhami. If your batch has an online class link, Join live class in My batches opens it.

Do I get a certificate?

Sikhami certificates are only for video courses. Ask the institute about its own certificate.
