Enrol in a course

How to join a free video course, buy a paid one, choose how long you get it for, use a coupon code, and what you get after you pay.

Updated 22 October 2026

To watch the lectures of a video course, you enrol first. A free course takes one tap. A paid course is bought online on Sikhami, and its lectures unlock as soon as the payment goes through.

Face-to-face courses work differently: you send an application and pay the institute directly. See Classroom courses for learners.

Know which button you see

Open the course page (see Find courses). The main button in the price card tells you what kind of course it is.

Button or messageWhat it means
Enrol for freeA free video course. You join at once.
Buy now · ₹…A paid video course. You pay online on Sikhami.
Apply now · ₹… or Apply for freeA face-to-face course. You apply, and the institute confirms your seat.
Continue learningYou are already enrolled. It opens the course player.
Contact the institute to enrol in this course. The course has no price set on Sikhami. Ask the institute how to join.

You need to be signed in to enrol. You cannot buy your own course.

Enrol in a free course

  1. Open the course page.
  2. Tap Enrol for free.
  3. You see the message You are enrolled. Enjoy the course.
  4. The button changes to Continue learning. Tap it to start watching.
  5. The course is now in My learning.

A free course gives you lifetime access, unless the course page shows a period, for example 1 year from purchase. Then your access lasts that long from the day you enrol.

Buy a paid video course

  1. Open the course page and tap Buy now · ₹…. The line under the button says the lectures unlock the moment your payment goes through.
  2. The Checkout page opens. It shows the course, the institute and the price.
  3. If the course is sold for different periods, choose one under How long you get it for.
  4. If you have a coupon, type it in Coupon code and tap Apply.
  5. Read the What you get box. It says how long you get every lecture for.
  6. Tap Pay ₹… securely. The Razorpay payment window opens. You can pay by UPI, card or net banking.
  7. When the payment is done, you see Payment received and the course opens in the player.

The money is paid to Sikhami through Razorpay, and the institute or teacher receives its share from Sikhami. For more about paying, see How to pay.

If the payment fails or you close the payment window, you see a message and the lectures stay locked. You can try again from the same page.

Choose how long you get the course for

A teacher can sell a course for one or more periods. You see only the ones the teacher priced, each with its own price.

PeriodYour access ends
6 months6 calendar months after the day you pay.
1 year12 calendar months after the day you pay.
2 years24 calendar months after the day you pay.
LifetimeYour access does not end.

Some courses have one price and one access period, which the course page shows, for example Lifetime access, 90 days or 1 year from purchase.

When your access ends, My learning marks the course Access ended, and the player tells you the date it ended, with a Buy it again button.

Use a coupon code

Teachers can make coupon codes for their own courses. A code works only for the course it was made for.

  1. On the checkout page, first choose your period, if there is a choice.
  2. Type the code in Coupon code. Letters turn into capitals by themselves.
  3. Tap Apply.
  4. If the code works, you see the code and how much you save, for example ₹200 off (was ₹999), and the price to pay goes down.
  • That coupon code is not valid for this course: the code is wrong, belongs to another course, or was switched off.
  • That coupon has expired: the teacher set an end date and it has passed.
  • That coupon has been used up: the code had a limit on how many people can use it.

A coupon is checked for the period you chose. If you then pick a different period, apply the code again.

After you enrol

  • The lectures unlock at once. Watch them in the course player. See Watch lessons and track your progress.
  • The course appears in My learning, with your progress.
  • The course owner gets a notification that you joined.
  • You appear in the course's Students list on the course page.
  • For a paid course, the checkout says a receipt goes to your email address. The invoice is in My orders: open Settings & privacy, tap My orders and payments, then the Payments tab. See Invoices and receipts.

Some paid courses also show Save with a bundle under the buy button. A bundle is several courses sold together for one price. See Course bundles.

Questions

I paid, but the lectures are still locked. What do I do?

Reload the course page and check My learning. If the course is not there, check My orders and payments in Settings & privacy for the payment, then write to help@sikhami.com with the invoice. See Contact support.

Can I pay the teacher directly instead?

For video courses, payment happens on Sikhami. For face-to-face courses, Sikhami takes no payment: you pay the institute after they confirm your seat.

Can I buy a course I already have?

No. While your access is still running, the checkout page sends you straight to the course player instead. Once your access has ended, you can buy it again.

Can I get my money back?

See Refunds for how refunds work on Sikhami.

Where do I find my coupon codes?

Coupon codes come from the course's teacher or institute, who share them as they choose. Sikhami does not list them. Ask the teacher or the institute.

Why is there no Buy button on a course?

Either the course has no price set (the page says to contact the institute), it is a face-to-face course (you see Apply now instead), or you are already enrolled (you see Continue learning).
