Guest accounts

Try Sikhami without giving a phone number, email or password, then keep the account by adding Google or your phone number. Learn what is different for a guest and how not to lose a guest account.

Updated 22 October 2026

A guest account lets you use Sikhami straight away, without a phone number, email or password. It is a real account: your posts, likes, follows and chats are saved to it.

A guest account has one big weakness: it has nothing to log back in with. If you want to keep it, add your Google account or your phone number with Keep your account. It takes less than a minute.

Start as a guest

  1. Open the login page.
  2. Choose Continue as a guest.
  3. Sikhami opens Home. You are now using a guest account.

Some Sikhami information pages for learners, teachers and institutes have a start button with the line "Starts as a guest. No form, no password." That button also makes a guest account on the website. On an Android phone that has the Sikhami app, it opens the app instead.

A new guest account has the name Guest, a picture with a letter on it, and a username that is a long code of letters and numbers. You can change all three in Edit your profile. Your name must be at least 6 characters long, so you need to change Guest before you can save other changes there.

What a guest can and cannot do

On the website, a guest account works like any other account. The login page says: Guests can browse and post right away. You can post, follow people, like, comment and send messages. What is different:

  • There is no way back in. If you log out, or if your browser's saved data for sikhami.com is cleared, the guest account cannot be opened again.
  • It stays in one browser. You cannot open a guest account on another computer, on your phone or in the Android app until you keep it.
  • No notification emails. A guest account has no email address, so Sikhami cannot email you.
  • No public profile page. Sikhami does not make a public profile page for a guest account, so people who are not logged in, and search engines, cannot see it.

Keep your account before you buy anything. If you lose a guest account, you also lose what you bought with it.

Keep your account

  1. Open the menu. On a computer, choose More at the bottom of the left menu. On a phone, open the Profile tab and choose ⋯.
  2. Choose Keep your account at the top of the list. This row shows only for guest accounts.
  3. The box Sign up to keep your account opens. Choose Continue with phone number or Continue with Google.
  4. For a phone number: check the country code, type your number, choose Send code, then type the 6-digit code from the SMS and choose Verify and continue. For Google: pick your Google account in the window that opens.
  5. Sikhami shows "Your account is saved. Add your name and choose a username." and opens Edit profile.
  6. Type your real name (at least 6 characters), choose a username, and choose Save.

Everything you did as a guest, your posts, likes, follows and chats, stays with your account. From now on, log in with that phone number or Google account, on the website or in the Android app.

  • With Google, your Google name, email and photo fill in the details that still have their starting values, such as the name Guest and the letter picture. Anything you changed yourself is kept.
  • Email cannot be used to keep a guest account. An email sign-up must be verified before it can be used, and the guest account would be lost while you wait. Use your phone number or Google.

Keeping your account makes it a public account. If you had switched on Private account, switch it on again in Settings. See Private account and follow requests.

If the phone number or Google account is already on Sikhami

If you already have a Sikhami account with that phone number or Google account, you see "This phone number already has an account" or "This Google account already has an account". You can choose:

  • Log in to that account: you move to your existing account. What you did as a guest stays on the guest account and does not move over.
  • Keep browsing as a guest: nothing changes. You can try another phone number or Google account.

Log in to an account you already have

In the Sign up to keep your account box, choose Log in next to "Already have an account?". The box changes to Log in to Sikhami, with phone number, Google and email. If the phone number or Google account is new to Sikhami, your guest account is kept with it. If it already has an account, you are logged in to that account, and the guest account stays behind.

Logging out of a guest account

When a guest chooses Log out, Sikhami warns: "Log out of your guest account?" and explains that a guest account cannot be logged back in to, so your posts, likes, follows and chats would be lost. The button says Log out and lose it.

If you want to keep what you did, choose Keep your account first, then log out.

Questions

Is a guest account free?

Yes. Guest accounts and normal accounts are both free.

I logged out of my guest account. Can I get it back?

No. A guest account has no phone number, Google account or password to log in with, so it cannot be opened again.

Can I keep my guest account with an email address?

No. Use your phone number or your Google account.

Will my posts and chats be kept when I keep my account?

Yes. Keeping the account adds a way to log in to the same account, so nothing moves and nothing is lost.

Can I use my guest account in the Android app?

Not while it is a guest account. Keep it first, then log in to the app with the same phone number or Google account.

Will other people know I am a guest?

They see your name, which is Guest until you change it, and your long code username. Change both in Edit profile.
